we are having an influx of fog. Personally I love it. It is eery. I don't have to drive it that much now that I am retired so I don't worry about the black ice and the lack of visability. We get some weird weather around here. It seems that every year we get fog at some point. We are fogged in right now. No planes going out or coming in. Bad time for this huh? A week before Christmas! Do you get weird weather? Do you enjoy it or does it bug you?

I live near the back waters of a river and I think that is why we get such a heavy fog here sometimes. We get an inversion that sets itself down and lasts for ages.

Yes, indeed. We are having the same thing here. Snow and bitterly cold. It got down to 4 one night. Then we get rain for a day and so warm we are walking in rivers of water. Ugh!

Sacramento, well the entire central valley in California actually, is well known for fog this time of the year in the mornings. Nice to watch when you're sitting home, but not so fun to drive in. There have been some pretty horrific accidents, actually.

San Francisco is pretty well known for it too. Funny thing is that when it's hotter than anything here, they are fogged in. And when the weather gets cooler, that's when they have beautiful days.

Oh,ya! I always think of San Fransisco when I see or think of fog. I recall when my ex and I went there years ago. It was so foggy that night and then burned off by early the next morning when we were driving around in search of a coffee house.

It started Freezing Rain about Ten Am Yesterday, then turned into snow an hour or two later, and it was and still is beautiful. All bad weather is supposed to have stopped by 7 PM tonight (saturday) and it's 6:16 right now. When I was out earlier their was nothing coming down... Not sure if it is now or not, but I'm sure it will refreeze and we may have this beautiful stuff out until Christmas! Weird Weather? Sometimes, and it does kind of bug me a bit but I don't worry about it, Just go with the flow!

Oh I do so love fog! It makes me homesick for the place I grew up as a child and teen-England. However, I am well aware most people are absolute idiots when it comes to driving in fog. Therefor, I do try to avoid being on the roads during fog. Otherwise, I love it!

Can't you get those fog lights that you can attach? It is neater to watch than to drive in.

well, the weather these days is more often weird than not. sometimes it is very very hot, then suddenly it pours. sometimes it rains for days. I like the weather in singapore now because it is cooler than usual. i guess in part we are experienceing the monsoon. we seldom get fog because we are in a tropical climate, being situated on the equator.

Oh yeah. We are getting winter-like weather here these days, heavy snow, freezing temperatures, foggy, poor visibility. It gets so dangerous driving along the streets and highways, with solid ice on the roads, so slippery. I have nor gone out for the last week. Just stayed indoors. I had bought a stock of foodstuff knowing this kind of weather is on the way !

I hybernate in the winter anyway. This year is worse than usual for us here. The airport closed down a few nights ago because of the fog. It is exciting to watch and I wouln't want to drive on it.

I pretty much love all weather except for the ice and severe, extreme cold. Right now we have had 2 days of extreme cold so that it is painful to step outside for more than a minute or 2. I'm hearing that on Sunday we are expecting a major snow storm which I normally would be all excited about except for my car is down and I work out of town and have to get to work on that day. Hopefully it'll all play out well. Normally I would be a lot more syked for the blizzard.

Hi, celticeagle. It rained almost all day here. It was very cold and wet today. I don't like driving or riding around when it is foggy. It is just too risky. I hope that the weather where you are at clears up before Christmas.

We move a lot so weird weather would be snow in Houston, Texas. That's only happened 33 times in the history of the city, pretty rare in deed. I like warm weather during the holidays, I hate cold so when it snowed I thought it was neat but now its going to be in the mid 60s and that's just where I like it.

I have a good friend that lives in that same area and she has described the horrid winters there. We usually have very little snow, just enough for the holidays. This year has been rediculous. Way too much! The skiiers are happy!

Hey celtic! I kind of think fog is so mysterious, but quite dangerous if you do have to travel in it! Right now we here in NY are supposedly bracing for our first big snow storm! I never believe it until I see it! So I will be waiting to see if it actually does appear and if it does if it dumps as much snow as they are predicting right now! Yesterday they said nothing about US getting any snow at all! And now we might get anywhere from 6-8 inches or more by Sunday? I'll let you know how that turns out! Be careful what you wish for! We did want a white Christmas!

Hey Op'! I think so. Mysterious. There are those fog lights you can use that help. You must be on Northern coast or in Florida! We usually get snow right about Christmas and then it melts off and we get very little from then on. Not so this year.

We do get weird weather here too. Never able to predict things here. It is foggy here to and I don't like driving in it to work. It's supposed to snow tonight here and I'm really nervous about that because I have to work tomorrow. They don't shut my company down for anything. Life and limb for a decent job I guess..lol.

Ya, here the saying goes: "If you don't like the weather, just wait five minutes! I have driven in just such cases as you discribe and have had black ice underneath the snow. Ugh!

.....Hi, Well we here in the Northeast are bracing for 6 to 12 inches of the white stuff. Hopefully, that will be it for about a month. "o) I am not a creature of winter, I was born in the South and as I get older, I wish I had stayed there. I love looking at the snow on picures and television, it is pretty, but it means cold and freezing tempertures which I could do without. But the kids like it so there you go, let them enjoy for a week, then let it melt away until next year. Sorry to be such a grinch. Take care, enjoy your fog.

I am in the Northwest. Cold, cold and cold. As soon as it snowed it melted off and it is now a rather normal winter day. Winter doesn't really start until Monday. Dec.21st. I am a grinch too in winter. I hybernate until May.
