My poor English,how to improve  

No one is perfect in english. except persons from english country. keep posting here i hope you will feel improvement in your english. one of the best way is to read newspaper and read before someone. ask him how did you read and try to write articles here on website and read them. it will improve your english a lot.

Hi libing2010! I'm not a native English speaker. I'm still learning to improve my English grammar. Mylot helped me improve it by just merely reading through discussions and comments. If there are words which I have not understood, I get a dictionary. Like you, I live in a country which only few people speak English. Reading books can also help you improve. But I think the best way of improving our English speaking and listening skills is to find friends who speaks the language and practice together. It is not necessary to learn from a native speaker just at least you can freely converse your thoughts to others. I find friends at www.italki.com it is a site where you can have someone who could teach you English and you could also share your native language to them. Happy mylotting! Goodluck!

Hi libing2010,I am also very poor in english but i try my best to learn more.I just keep on reading english books and magazines for me to improve.I suggest to read also so that it can helps you in improving your english.Always participate the discussions of our fellow mylotters for you to learn. This may look like stupid but it works. Many people talk to the mirror for english training purposes. It will improve your diction and confidence.

Others like my friend always read novel books (thick ones) on the right hand and a dictionary at the left hand. This way, she will understand the meaning of unfamiliar words and you will get an idea on how to use it.

I always feel it.. and I am still struggling with my English. I am so bad with my grammar, even though I've been reading and writing since childhood, in English, I am really bad with it. Even I make so many mistakes while speaking English.

One of the best books I know to improve your vocabulary is, "Word Power Made Easy" by Norman E.Lewis. It's amazing. Just try it... and you will your abilities change.

hi libing2010 YOu are doing well really as our language English is one of the hardest ones to learn. I am a native born American and even I get confused at times too.libing you are doing what will help you to eventually use English fluently. Just keep trying to use new phrases as you learn them and most any mylotter if asked will help you out if you are stuck. Its okay to ask us for help if you would like too. Reading certainly is the best option to improve your english. Make a note of the word which is difficult to understand and refer it in the dictionary. This way you not only will improve your english but will also enhance your vocabulary. In order to improve your listening and then understanding, keep watching a lot of english movies. I am sure this will definitely will improve your english.

I'm also not that good English honestly I'm struggling to be grammatically correct at all times. We can improve our English by practice and reading a lot of English. Yes native speakers don't experience problem with their grammar and they can express themselves better than native speaker. Sometimes I can't understand some slang words here. I also translating words and phrases because sometimes it is very hard to translate my language to English. Sometimes there's no translation at all so it is very difficult to express myself here..

Hello libing... English is my second language too, and i understand very well what you are going through. I also have the same problem as you. I would sometimes confuse one word with another, it is hard but i guess we just have to try. I love it here it gives me the opportunity to share my views and my experiences and it is nice to read what other members have to say about them. But it is not easy when you want to express your thoughts and you can't translate it into words. But i am glad, members here are very accommodating and understanding. What's important is to make our posts as understandable as possible and try and try to improve them. Good luck and enjoy!

Hi libing2010! YOu just have to exercise writing on english by commenting more here and reading more. You should be able to write better in no time. It's just a matter of practicing and just learning from other discussions you read here. Be more positive and you should be up and running in no time.
