I live in the country and while there are usually a few families living around me, they have all left for their various destinations for Christmas. So for the time being I am alone in the area. It doesn't bother me, I'm used to living alone in remote locations, until tonight.
I was just going down the long dark hallway to my bedroom to turn on the light before I crawl into bed. My bathroom is half way down that hallway, which is important to the story. I didn't bother to turn on any lights, as when you live in a house for 25 years you know your way around. Except tonight.
I reached the bathroom door, thinking about the quilt I am making for my boy friend for Christmas-in fact I was very deeply in thought, when something reached out and grabbed my arm, it was a firm grip and of course I jumped and found someone letting out a scream---then it dawned on me that the someone who just screamed was me! After collecting myself, I looked into the bathroom to see who was stalking me...and how the heck they got into my house. I came eye to eye with the vicious stalker who snuck into my bathroom just to scare the heck out of me. He was sitting on the counter looking up at me with his innocent beautiful blue eyes. Khuay couldn't figure out why I screamed at him for grabbing my arm. Once I saw him and looked into his eyes, he climbed into the sink and curled up with a huff!
I'm back on the computer for awhile until my heart beat slows down again and I don't feel too spooked.

My Cat Screamer does that when she is demanding to be fed I keep her dishes
up on top of my washing machine and sometimes I'll be switching loads of laundry
or letting the dog out the door is right there too and she will paw out and grab
at me ( tapping my arm) like HEY...FEED ME!!! DON'T YOU SEE ME HERE???

LOL.. That is a funny story.. Unless you are in your shoes.. :-)
I have 14 cats and they do all kinds of things to me.. but not too often do I get scared like that.. I have been woken up by a couple of them fighting and running over my face.. I was not happy at that outcome as I had a long gash going across my nose. It was so deep I had to put a band aid on it.. needless to say I looked like a nerd for a good week or so!
I have a few kittens also who untie my shoes and then hang onto the shoelaces while I drag them around the house.. They think it's fun until they are all standing behind me and I forget and step back.. someone is always crying that their toes or their tail hurts.. I am waiting for the day they trip me and I will be the one crying.. :-) They keep me on my toes that's for sure!

Ok. Well this was a beautiful piece of prose. What I like is that if you're in a strange house and on a couch, and dreaming and there's a lady who comes up to you and you're sad. And it's only your distant mom's voice that tells you to wake and be careful and not give into the vibes that keep you magnetized. So weird.
