Is age discrimination increasing in the workplace?

I have never experienced age discrimination in my workplace. But when I look around, there is hardly anyone over the age of 40 in my office. Some people are about 50 years old, but there is nobody older than that. Do you believe age discrimination in the workplace is a major issue? Is it increasing? Are you worried about it?

oh yes there is age discrimination in my country. its not right but it happens yes it is a major issue because with older people who have years of job experience companies dont want to pay them for what there worth, and with the young people its not enough or no experience we all need to work!

You make a good point. Not giving older people the chance to work means losing knowledge that has to be passed on to the younger generation.

yes this is true and how do we expect as a country to get better if we dont let the people who are experienced do what they do best in the workplace but yet we still enforce people to go to school and get an education?

sometimes it does exist most specially if the person is in stress or depress mode.

Not sure if stress is directly related to age discrimation. Younger people get stressed out as well.
