Best laid plans and all that DO often go awry!

I had planned to type my fingers down to nubs today with the myLot special of the day and that just didn't work out. I haven't gotten anything typed here since shortly after noon. I had to clean off my car from our Snow of the Century, realizing too late that I should have done it yesterday while the snow was still feathery and light and not retaining moisture and heavy like it was today. I also got stuck in the back yard where I had parked before the storm came to give the plow room to come through the shared drive (4 houses connected by a driveway that crosses behind them). Argh. But, I persevered and was able to rock my car free in order to travel to the next county south and pick up my Angel Food order that was supposed to have been picked up Saturday morning when we were already in the midst of the storm that dumped just about two feet of snow in our area. Fortunately, a friend who lived about a half-mile from the church where I was to go was able to pick up my food and keep it for me until I got out today. It takes about 25-30 minutes to get down there even though it's only nine miles away, so I had agreed to meet them at the Long John Silver's where I was going to pick up something to eat (I love them and there aren't any near me). I had to stop on the way to get gas or I wouldn't have made it there. They found me in the parking lot and loaded the food box into my car. When I finished eating, I called my daughter to see if she wanted anything and she did, so back through the drive thru I went to get her LJS chicken planks and a soda and proceeded to drive back home. I got back home, cleared out my trash from my car and trudged up the steps with what I could carry (the box is heavy, so I left it out in the cold until my daughter could help me with it) and ended up having a rather negative reaction to the food I'd eaten at Long John Silvers. Oh, I did love it - every single bite. But, there was so much grease trapped in the batter covering the fish and shrimp - apparently, that triggered a bout of IBS that kept me busy for a while when I got home. Then I fell asleep for about two hours. By the time I got done answering all my emails and other assorted duties, it was almost time for the double payment offer to end, so here I am, at the end of the day, trying to at least start one discussion. I answered quite a few this morning and early afternoon - more than I have for a while - but I really had planned to do much more.
So, now that your eyes are tired of reading, have you ever had a day when you planned to do something but everything else that you also had to do kept you from accomplishing it? Especially when you really wanted to get some writing done, whether here or on one of the other writing sites?

You know, I haven't heard any of them except the few that were on Marianne's page. But, I've never been to singsnap and, even if I was inclined, couldn't since I have no mic set up here. But, apparently quite a few people really enjoy it. I wonder if Kashigurl goes there to record for fun since she sings professionally?

Hey jerz! Don't feel bad! I also had planned to spend alot more
time here today, but had other things to do too! Of all the
days that I am usually in the house all day today my boyfriend
(who is off from work because the college he works at (cafeteria)
is closed until after the New Year! Of course, it is without
him getting paid, but he has no choice! So we went Christmas
Shopping to get his a pair of work boots (one of my gifts to
him) and then went grocery shopping for Christmas Dinner and
some regular stuff! What fun! I hate grocery shopping so only
go about once a month for the heavy stuff because we walk to
the store which is quite a hike and then take a cab back! Not
a fun day! So my knee, ankle and back were killing me when we
finally did get home about five hours later! And by the time
I was able to sit down at the computer it was already 6:00pm
and with phone interruptions and dinner I barely got much
mylotting done! So that was my fun day! So now it's after
midnight and I'm still here too! And have to go out again
tomorrow to pick up what I forgot to get today!

yea, often mom has a bunch of errands i have to run for her-and she always tells me at like 10 PM the night before, which skews everything else i was going to do.
it's usually not much more than an annoyance, but i wish she'd give me more notice..

jerZgirl hi oh yes Ihad an evening like that last night. I was trying to order a gift on line for my roomie, and also a gift for myself on another web site. got stuck in the order page when it kept demanding me to give them my cell phone number when I did not have a cell phone, finally I discovered to my dismay the only reason I could not get this final page to go through was because the boxes below stating do you want to receive text messages had been checked.so all I had to do was uncheck it.I felt like a fool as I should have seen that. so I finally got all that done but had missed out on a lot of mylotting as it was close to my bed time by then.I was thoroughly disgruntled as my roomie kept nagging me wanting to know what I was doing. she knows zilch about computers and I did not feel right then like teAching her. grrrrrrr.

LOL I know just what you mean. The only time I give a phone number is when they're going to ship by UPS or FedEx and those companies might need a number if there's a delivery problem. Otherwise, I will not give a number. I also have a free voicemail setup online that I started using when I wanted to sign up for something that required a phone number. Sure enough, I started getting spam voicemails! LOL So much for that - I can delete the emails I get with the voicemail attached once I realize what it is. Much better without having unsolicited calls coming into the cell phone that I have to pay for. Much better!
