What is your favorite gift card or gift certificate to give or to get?

My brothers like food cards like Wendy's, McD's, etc. My brothers and my husband both like hardware store cards or ones where they can buy materials for construction. I used to (when I had money) get ones for food stores like Price Chopper or in really good times when we could splurge, video rental gift certificates. I love Michaels and some of our local craft and guiltig stores. But I really need a card from my drug store so I can afford over-the-counter eye drops. I wish I could have gotten certificates from my friend's shop. She has a fun gift shop, but not in the cards this year. There was one place where you would buy one certificate and get another one free for the same amount up to $25.00. Loved that. I would buy one for $10 and have another one for $10 and could give to 2 people that way.
So what are your family's favorites and your favorites? Do the favorites change depending on the economonics or year? Do you enjoy getting gift cards? Do you forget to use them? Has a card ever run out before you could use it?

Timmies, I've never heard of. Is it like any other food place that I might know?
Blockbuster would be a nice one.
Chapters we don't have, but we do have Borders. Book gift cards are nice.

I like to get dinner cards because some times I am out there and don't have the money and they are so handy to have the Swiss Chalet or Coffee shop they are on the cards.

Those are nice ideas. Wish we had a Swiss Chalet here.

I think Home Depot is always my favorite. I love lumber yards and remodeling. I am waiting on one from there that I earned at MyPoints. I like MyPoints. I know there are years we really wish we could do more.

There is a Home Depot in VT. We have Lowes up here. That's one of the ones my husband and brothers are hoping for. It won't come from me this year. Maybe in the future.

I love Barns and Noble, we have to go to VT for the nearest one. Had so much trouble trying to redeem a Walmart card one time, hope I never get another one from there.

Ya, I like them well enough. I think it would be nice to get one for some place you would normally go. Something really different and nice. That would be a special gift and something for you to try out. No card has ever ran out before I used it. They are a nice gift.

So getting a card works well for you. I'm glad. You have some neat discussions. I really enjoyed the one about the house. Take care.
