One of my favorite movies was Nightmare Before Christmas, but it was a Halloween movie. I do not watch a lot of movies, but sappy ones are ok once in a while.
Avatar is playing at our local theater and I thought about seeing it for Christmas, but decided to buy a chocolate Ganache cake instead. I wear eyeglasses, so I do not think wearing those 3-D things would be comfortable. I also think if they are going to make 3D movies they ought to be able to create the effects by having more than one projector instead of making everyone wear adapters.
I guess the best Christmas movie we have here is still Miracle on 34th Street, which was made in 1947 and was ranked #9 by the American Film Institute as one of the 100 "Most Inspiring Movies of All Time." When it opened, Macy's department store (where it was filmed) is said to have shut down for 1/2 day so that all 12,000 of their employees could go to see the film.

I love old Christmas movies, this time of year is the only time I watch them on TV.
White Christmas is the one that comes to mind right now. Merry Christmas to you..

It's a tradition in my family to watch "White Christmas" together every year. I started watching it on TV as a child, and it definitely wasn't on every year or at convenient times, and then I got it on VHS and watched it with my kids as they grew up. Now I have it on DVD, and at least my husband and I watch it every year. I like some of the more contemporary shows, too, but nothing will every match "White Christmas" for me.
