The kids and I made cut out cookies and decorated them, I also made peanut butter blossoms, and I was going to make M&M cookies in the Christmas colors, but when I went to get the M&M's I discovered my husband had eaten them. So I ended up making regular old chocolate chip cookies, I also made regular fudge, and mint fudge. Did you make Christmas cookies this year, if so what kind?

I didn't my wife and daughter did, after a while my wife kicked my daughter out of the kitchen, she's 7. They made snickerdoodles, chocolate chip, heavenly shortbread and Hershey kiss cookies. Santa really loved the heavenly shortbread, my kids made the comment that he didn't leave any evidence but a few crumbs.

Heavenly shortbread sounds really good. How is it made. I wonder if I searched the internet if I would find it.

Heavenly shortbread does sound good. My 12 year old son decorated 2 cookies and left, my 13 year old daughter decorated a lot of them but my 5 year old was the best helper of the day.

I didn't make many cookies this year, but our neighbor gave us a gift of a cookie plate. One particular cookie was something that I had never had. It was a sugar cookie with a pocket filled with raisins and figs. It was sooo delicious. Also a friend of mine made some beautiful cookies also a sugar cookie I believe, hand dipped in dark chocolate and sprinked with nuts. She made two differnt patterns, one was handdipped so there was a crescent shape, one was drizzled in chocolte so it looked sort of lacey, and they were devine. I got so many cookies that I didn't have to make any. I traded my artichoke dip and french onion soup at our get together. That is what I brought to the table this year.

I did not do any baking for Christmas. I made fudge before Thanksgiving and had plenty to take to share with family. I made some other things. I am always delegated to make Whole berry cranberry jelly.

The cookies you made look so delicious! I tried to make cut-out sugar cookies but I used a recipe for butter cookies as they have a little more flavor but they were to tacky so I could only roll them into balls and let them bake that way. Then my daughter and I colored frosting and decorated them. Thats all the Christmas cookies we've made so far lol and I have ate about 75% of them.

Hi Lady, Funny you should ask. Actually my husband does the majority of the baking, he took over some time ago. Decided he like to do so. So.... Being the good wife that I am, I let him take over. Once in a while, he will let me bake, but it is so rare and far between, its not even funny. This year he made gingerbread, mint chocolate chip, sugar and then made some fudge. We gave the majority of the items to neighbors.

Sometimes those are the best cookies.
