I'm planning to buy a new netbook. Sometimes it gets tiring to bring my bulky laptop around. I'd rather leave mine at home then just bring the netbook whenever I'm outside. I tried to research a couple but almost all of them have the same specs. I guess the only difference is their appearance. So I'd rather get reviews based on user experience rather than the specs. What kind of netbook do you use? What brand of netbook do you recommend?

As I have been planning on getting one of these for travelling with, I have done quite a bit of research into the different models and I have come to the conclusion that the ASUS Eee 1000 HE is probably the best. It has a slightly faster Atom processor than it's competitors and it has a claimed battery life of 8 or 9 hours. The battery life is dependent on what programs you are running, but the machine also has a lot of good user reviews which support the claims for battery life and this extended battery life was one of the main things for me.

Thanks jwfarrimond, the Asus Eee is one of my options on which netbook to buy. Im still trying to decide between that and the hp mini because I like the way the hp mini looks.

Personally, I'm not much interested in looks, more in functionality - particularly of the keyboard and touchpad. I'd not considered the HP at the top of my list but rather the MSI Wind U100 series netbooks which also impressed me. There is really not a lot of difference between them, but I leaned towards the Eee because of the slightly faster processor, the extended battery life and the reviews which said good things about the keyboard usability.
