| How to spend New Years  | | | |  As the New Year approaches, there is a lot of hustle and bustle about events that are going to take place. Unfortunately, I will not be attending any. I had a few plans for new years celebrations but because of one thing or another they are cancelled. Therefore this New Years Eve, I will be spending alone. I have been to a few websites to find out what to do during this solitary time. Renting movies seems like the best choice but I would like to find out any other opinions of people who will, like me, be spending their New Year's alone. See, usually when I spend my New Years alone, it is depressing and annoying. This year I am going to do my best to forget the fact that I am not out partying along with the rest of the people my age. What do you think?

| |  Can I ask why you don't spend New Years Eve with friends or family? Sometimes it's just.. not fun to be by yourself on a holiday. A little dangerous, actually. I'm not a partier at all, but a lot of my friends are. But I can usually still find a few friends who are also boyfriend-less and plan-less who wouldn't mind going to the casino with me or vegging out at home. I'm all for the idea, actually! I'm probably going to end up spending my new years eve with one friend. I work until 6 pm that day. I wouldn't mind watching movies or reading a book or something. I hate being hung over on the first day of the new year, don't you? It's such a bad omen, I would think. Anyway, I think last year I spent it alone. It's never been that big of a deal to me, though. I don't mind it.
You could rent some movies, GO to a movie, go to the casino (if you're over 18), read a book, write, apply for scholarships or do some studying, etc.
Those are the only real ideas I have for you. Good luck on deciding what to do!

| | Family is a little dated (meaning they will probably be in bed by 10) And most of my friends are either married, in a relationship or have children, or all of the above. the type of events they will be having are either more child-friendly or couple friendly to which neither I can relate to. | |  i dont think i am going anywhere either.
1. sometimes hotels have events on new years eve.
2. colleges campuses have events and parties and shows.
3. community centers
4. online social sites and hang out with online friends in virtual reality chatroom settings and yoville and imvu. i once had a virtual reality thanksgiving party on imvu.
5. watch tv or rent a movie, and light the fireplace and drink hot cocoa.
6. relax in bed and read a good book all day.
7. take a hot bubble bath.
8. if it is not raining, relax in a jacuzzi.
9. window shopping in the mall.
10. go to a movie.
