Starting a blog on Wordpress?

Any tips for me? I'm starting a PERSONAL blog on WordPress, just for fun (although maybe later I'll throw in Google Adsense..If I'm approved, that is), but I just wanted to know if anyone has any advice for me. So far, looking at the website, I'm totally confused and don't even know where to begin.
Did you have a hard time getting used to WordPress? About how long did it take you to get the hang of things? And do you know of any tutorial websites (for beginners) on how to get started?

Few days ago i created a blog in wordpress and put some HTML code there. But my blog has been suspended for putting HTML code in my blog. I created a free blog with wordpress. If you want to put some HTML code in your blog please create a paid blog otherwise your blog will be suspended like me.
