what do you all think about thanking your boss? i'm appreciate that she hired me in this tough economy, and that she will appreciate what i did~! however, i was told it is a taboo to be emotional with your boss, is it true? we are human afterall...and shouldn't be being emotional to another human is normal? or boss is not considered as human?

it is but plain unethical to give gifts to your boss (if that's what you're really asking) unless it is his or her birthday. you can show your gratitude by coming to work earlier than the normal time as possible to show your eagerness to be of service to him or her and the company and going the extra mile of just doing your job. this would lessen a boss's mind of worries. and that is a whole lot of thanking that you're showing your boss.

I think it depends a lot on where you work and what kind of person your boss is. I dont see anything wrong with being grateful to have a job. I think you can thank a person without getting emotional.
