Ideas, do you feel shy to express them, do you want to experiment...

I have had plenty of ideas which I have wanted to try out. But never really expressed, because I was not from that stream at all. :) This morning I was watching an invention of this year - a blade less fan, and I thought well, that is it, that is what I thought was possible. Do you get any ideas like that? Suppose this is your chance to express one, and stake some claim in future. What would you want to express? Let's have it.

Hi shynepapin, I just had one this morning. I expressed it in a discussion. Lets see whether it is considered good enough. :)

Long back I used to watch aged people finding it difficult to climb the bus steps to enter the bus. I used to think, why not the buses be made of lower body floor so that elders need not feel difficult to climb the stairs of good height. Now I see many buses have lower floor area and easy for elders to climb it.

Yeah, Hatley mentioned that. After all everybody can't be climbing at that height. In India we have a greater problem. We dont have leveled roads. What happens is when the body is lower around that, it grazes the road when the bus has to let the traffic pass by. That is the reason the usage of such things is not as frequent as it might be in the west. But we could definitely think of folding type. Old people do have problems. :( We all will reach that stage eventually. :(

hi vandan7 we used to have a class called mental fitness and in this class our instructor had asked us for new ideas on inventions. I had one that I felt would ultimately work as there are thousands of places like Gold Crest retirement center with people with all sorts of physical handicaps. we all love to go shopping and some of us have a moderate to hard time getting into a van or SUv. well I thought if the van had seats that could move out flat just a few more inches past the open door most of us who had moderate disabilities could sit down on this, press a button and it would slide us neatly into the van. I am told this is possible to make so someone needs to whisper the idea into a c ar makers ears. Also they should make the space for the disabled persons legs just a tad more roomier so while sliding in your legs will clear any obstacles without d amaging your legs or anything in the van. these are my pitch.

Actually Hatley, that is a great suggestion! But when we suggest its application for a limited number of people, the car manufacturers dont feel inclined to come up with it, as it is expensive for them to churn out such models. However, we need to think of alternative uses of such features, or same mechanism so that they feel yes, there is a large market out there that needs to be tapped and with little modification such things can be made. In our parts of the world, labor is much too cheap. But in your world, I am sure labor is rather expensive. So I am sure there may be more applications possible. Once we have a few of such things, Hatley, you yourself can mail directly to the car manufacturers, and I am sure they will look at such things, especially since they are looking for some markets. :)

Not at all, I am not shy to express my ideas or wanted experiment to some of my close friends who can share their views about it. Thereby, I will know if gonna pursue my plans or not. Or will it give a positive feedback or not. When I was a child, I am very shy type. But, when I grew up, It opened me to many realizations about life. This was my turning point in life to be assertive, and at the same time free to speak what ever I have in mind. Guided by the moral values in life.

So Genericbe, tell me a great idea of yours which you felt was feasible and required possibly some collective effort, or some technology, which is available or which you dont really know is available but are testing waters to check whether it has come up somewhere?
