What kind of mascara do you use?

These days it seems like there are sooo many new "volumizing" and "lengthening" mascaras out there. When I first started wearing it, there was only "Great Lash" (that on that comes in the pink and green bottle, by Mabelline I think) and a couple others. I'm curious- has anyone tried the newer types of mascara? Do they actually make your lashes look as huge as they are in the commercials? w

I've recently gotten to try Rimmel Lash Maxxx Mascara. Very nice. It doesn't do much for volume but if you're after length and on a budget, then it's definitely a good choice. I'm currently after L'oreal Voluminous and L'oreal Volume Shocking Mascara--- the latter being a recommendation from a make-up savvy friend as well.

I love mascara and it's one thing I always apply everyday. I have tried quite a few and I like to layer my mascaras on top of each other. One of my favourite mascaras is Diorshow by Dior, it makes my eyelashes super thick. I also love Bourjois Volume Clubbing mascara this mascara creates big, thick and voluminous lashes its quite dramatic looking. I usually wear Volume Clubbing mascara under false eyelashes when I'm going out clubbing.

Some are good but you have to remember that, in those adverts the girls are usually weraing lash inserts to make their lashes appear fuller and longer. It is not all down to the mascara! At the moment I like Avonspectra lash because you turn a dial to go from a daytime look to a more dramatic look for an evening.

A friend of mine doesn't really use make-up but her eyelashes always look amazing. I once asked her how she gets this "wet look" on her lashes and she told me about a Maybelline product that achieves just this effect. I really think you need to have ace eyelashes before you even delve into mascara because most of them don't achieve the look you want...and most of the models on TV commercials cheat by having false eyelashes anyway. In my experience, it is one cosmetics product that does not seem to be any different whether you pay a couple of quid for it or 3 times as much. I had a Lancome Mascara and hated it and currently have a Boots No.17 and love it. Doesn't clump or anything. Maybe it's the type of beetles they crush that goes into the product, who knows?

I have tested many mascaras in my life and the only one that really seemed to curl up the lashes and at the same time increase their length was 2000 calories. I don't have it anymore. And I really don't know where to get it. It actually belonged to my mom and she just gave it to me to use. The newest in the market is Rimmel's Extra Super Lash mascara. It does increase the length of the lashes but they look very scarce. Also it is not easy to take the mascara off since it is extremely water proof. But its price is reasonable right now. That is, under 5 dollars.

I use Maybelline Great Lash as well. =) I've tried lots of mascaras... Maybelline Unstoppable, Maybelline Volume Express, Maybelline The Colossal Mascara, L'Oreal Double Extensions, and one or two by covergirl which I don't really remember. However, my two most absolute favorites are Maybelline Great Lash (Waterproof) and Lancome Definicils. Great Lash is different from Colossal as it is more watery and thin and adds more length rather than volume. It also tends to clump a lot less. As for Lancome Definicils Waterproof, well, you get everything you wish for in a mascara--- volume, length, doesn't smear off easily... There's a reason why this is a cult favorite--- but for quite a price.

I don't have any preferences when it comes to choosing the cosmetic brands. I would go for anything that looks good on me, something that won't do harm on my skin. I have seen Maybelline's and I think it's nice.

I like MAC's ZoomLash otherwise anything by Revlon. I don't really care as long as it sort of works, is black, and is by a brand that doesn't test on animals (I'm really sensitive about that). MAC & Revlon both do not, hence those are probably my 2 most favorite brands!
