Not really want to join the New Year party at work

Yesterday, my part - time job manager asked me to stay a little bit longer after wor, I asked why; she told me that they gonna have a new year party for all the employees. I wasn't intend to attend the party, because I don't really want to socialize with my co - workers after work. But a couple of co - workers talk me into it, and I would only stay half hour max. So, today after work, I stay a little bit longer at work, and they have all the food and drinks arranged. I just enjoy the food, and not much of socializing with other people. Because most people just want to suck up with those higher level of personnels. That is not my type of game. I rather ran home and spend more time with my daughter and my family. Anyway, I am just not into Christmas party or new year party at work. I might want to hang out with a couple of closed friends or family.
