White wine or red wine - what do you enjoy more?

My husband says that the wine you drink depends on what you eat. But I must say - as a non-wine expert and only ocassional drinker of alcohol I would always chose a white wine over a red, no matter what meal it is for. It just tastes more refreshing. What's your view?
