Four weeks ago, I left left for winter vacation, forgetting that my coffee mug still had coffee in it. Today, I come back to my room and to find thirty fruit flies flying around my room and many more inside my cup. I'm too scared to touch it
but somehow managed to to plastic bag and stuff it in a drawer. I know it's my fault but could anything be more disgusting?!

you remind me of the porcelain starbucks mug that my husband gave me. he saw a little lizard in it and since lizard is only one of those animals that scares me i never got to use that mug anymore.

That is pretty nasty. Can't say it's the most disgusting thing I've ever heard, but it's pretty gross. I'd just throw that coffee mug out and cover the counter with bleach. Next time make sure the coffee is all gone or at least not sitting out in the open.

Yes, it is pretty nasty. I hope I don't have to throw out my coffee mug (I love that mug). I was hoping that I could bribe my brother to have him deal with it when he visits. I didn't know that fruit flies could reproduce so fast but....now I do. Thanks for responding.

You could have came home with rats eating the flies. Then when you would lay down a rat would sleep on your head. That would be more disgusting I think. Flies and rats, not a good combination. Next time, empty everything before leaving.

Right, that is more disgusting. Now I feel less disgusted by my fruit fly invested mug. I have to remember to empty out everything before I leave next time. Thanks for your response.
