It depends on what topic you mentioned if someone is not interested in your topic of discussion will be paid only when you make it. We being paid for what we type, and not from others. So, if there are many who respond to your discussions and if you reply to their responses will likely also be spending time with you answering your own discussion you can get more.

Hi! I think there is no difference between start a new discussion and respond to an existing one( but I'm not sure). The + of starting a discussion is that you can comment every respond, so you can easly earn money, and not searching for the right discussion! that's what I think!

hi bestmom we get paid as I understand it about the same for new discussions, and responses and comments back on responses to our own discussions. mylot admins only says quality rather than quantity so better to make at least five or six line postings than one dinky little one liner. I know from my own earnings a fatter posting does earn you more but mylot does not discuss with us how much each pays and we are told not to ask.

You have a point there! Quality is required on posting in order to earn and to generate more income, quantity is added. So both quality and quantity must be considered to earn more in participation. Yes, only the staff knows on how to calculate the participation earnings based from some factors such as post quality and the reputation of the user so there is no exact amount per post in here. Nice advice about the average length of posting here, that could help others, especially the new users here who wants to earn well in here.

Hi! Well, earnings for posting discussions and responses are the same, as well as for posting comments. They depend on quality and on the rating of the user. An easier way to earn on participation is to stay on several discussions by replying on other responses. It is because your attention will be focused on a certain subject so it is easy to give some information if you know a lot about the topic unlike on leaving just a single post on each topic then jumping on another because you have to think for different answers on different topics. i agree.. and i think a lot of members do that. i do not see responses as "yeah" or "what" or any one-word response. unlike in yahoo's ask a question, where a lot of members answer only one word because it also earns a point.

Yes, many users are doing that because as I had mentioned, it is an easier way of earning in participation. Since the calculation of earnings depends on quality whether it is a response, discussion, or a comment.
There are also users who post one-liners, some of them are new users who tries to explore the things in here, as they stay in here, they will find out that earnings in participation depends on quality. But there are others who keeps on doing that as they believe that there is a fixed amount per post here and they usually end up from quitting because they didn't earned well. If you see users like that, try to help them out by guiding them on how to earn in here by posting.
