I see you have changed to a new avatar there; awesome. It's cool to be able to experiment with different avatars. And you can also choose to put your own photo, or not, put a scenery avatar, a cartoon character and etc..

I noticed, and it seems that I've seen that one before. Did you use it before? or is it a familliar picture that a lot of people would recognize? I like avatars that say something about the person using them. As you can see, mine matches my screenname.

So this is now the new you! I do not recognise this avatar but I searched for your old name and found you on a discussion with Wizard. I guess that you feel more 'you' with this one and it is definately less sad compared to the other one. But it is... erm... creepy

I think that every part of our profiles is important. Not only the avatars... nickname too. Both of this are creating our 'image'. I like your Ice smile nickname. It's easy to remember, but this candle is really sad... Try another one. I prefer human avatars which helps other users to understand if you are man or a woman. It's good to change our avatars periodically. Change yours.

HI! I think no! For me it is not so important, what avatar I have, I really don't care about it, but I must put something, because it is required. And I always choose something funny and nice. I hate uploading photos of myself as an avatar, just because I don't like myself on photos

This avatar is more outstanding. Once you have an avatar it becomes your trademark. It is important to have an avatar that people can easily recognize you.

It does not really matter, because even you change your avatar I cannot see it. If you like it then it's no makes any different for me. I only look on your profile and the user name. It's easy to remember with ice+smile.

Hi icesmile, Like other members have mentioned I also recognise people by their avatars as well as their names. It always makes me smile when I scroll through things and see pictures I remember. I also very much like the users who have avatars showing themselves. It is nice to have some idea who you are talking to when you respond to things ~ Nods ~ Away from that the choice of avatar itself can be very interesting as it tells you a little something about the person and whether you maybe have the same interests as them. For instance an anime fan seeing mine would know I was a D.Gray-man fan and would warm to me for that, while other people would just assume I liked the picture and had great taste in guys lol. I like that depth ~ Nods ~ I would probably have one of me but I usually wait until the site has mostly human avatars before I change mine. I don't want to scare people off ~ Winks ~ I like your new avatar though so I think you made the right choice ~ thumbs up ~ All the best, Dranz

Avatars are definately important on websites and forums, it's how people judge us. I personally make avatars and signature images for people, we spend alot of time on the web, and it's nice to have a face when you're talking to someone.
