Well, today was the memorial service for my best friend and my adopted older sister (in love). Her sisters, husband, and father had a beautiful service in memory of this phenomenal woman.
I heard her sing one last time as one of the songs that they played for the funeral was a recorded version of her and her sisters (Mountain Harmony) recorded several years ago.
I cried and I know that I will miss my dear sweet friend. However, I know that for every day of my life I will have a special angel watching over me and I know that one day I will be reunited with her.
As I shared with everyone during the last days of her life I thank all the prayers and well wishes that I got from my friends that I've made here on mylot.

Bless your heart, Dorann. Saying good-bye is so painful, and yet remembering and looking back on this friend of yours also offers the beginning of healing.
You're in my prayers...and yes, you and Reesee will be re-united in heaven one day.
xoxo

In a certain sense it is a strange thing to think about, but I believe that in heaven the people that you loved on earth have the opportunity to converse with each other and one of the things that helps me to find comfort is the fact I believe she will be able to tell my father about the grandchildren that he has never met.

I know that I am going to continue to love this special woman forever. It was so her to always have a smile and a happy greeting for someone. She was the person that I've met in my life that has never met a stranger. She was a great friend and she will live on through me in the changes that I want to make in my life to make myself more like she was. She was to me the kind of person that every person should aspire to be.
