To all people in mylot: Why are you hesitant to truly believe JESUS as CHRIST? |
| |
| The Bible has been in circulation for many decades now. It is the number one selling book of all time. It teaches the Lord Jesus Christ as the Son of God who was offered in the cross of calvary in Mount Moriah which is the same place where Isaac was offered by Abraham. The reason for the Sacrifice of His Life was to save the fallen human race. But despite this truth, there are people who are still hesitant to believe and come to accept Him as the redeemer. There must be reasons why? If you are not a true believer of the Lord Jesus Christ what are the reasons why are you hesitant to believe in Him? | | | | | |

| | hi joseph, I know that Jesus is the son of god so as Buddha and Allah and those that are named as son of God, They are just one. The story even rotates as just one. They are what we called as savior. The question why some don't have doubts believing in it is because the one who already carries the message are just common human beings who are not perfect as we see that we are not perfect. I really don't think that people stopped believing in Jesus Christ the mere fact that it is the teaching that is very well taking cared of. As for me i believe in him and the one true god. But the person who is teaching them the priest etc. i don't believe in them i don't even trust them. Sometimes they twist the bible to much that it would create confusions to some. The bible message is just simple "Do what is right". The ten commandments are perfect. My belief stays there. | | | | | | |

| | True, Buddha is not God. He never claimed to be the Christ (meaning of Christ is the Savior). Buddha is not the Christ. Allah is how the muslims called God. There is nothing wrong with that. However, the Quran should be read that people will know that even in Quran, the LOrd Jesus Christ was mentioned as the Savior. Please, please read the Quran and the Bible too. Study both of them and you yourself will know which one is the fake one. | | | |

| | Because the Bible has been written and re-written by MAN so many times that it is nothing but a fairy tale to me. If GOD wanted us to believe, why didn't He wait and send Christ when He could have reached the WHOLE WORLD, not just some backwater towns in Galilee. | | | | | | |

| | Agreed wholeheartedly TLLD. There are so many questions with the bible that any logically sound question questioning the bible itself will make it unravel. | | | |

| | Agreed. Far too many losses in translation even! From hebrew to greek to latin to english. And then we discover things like the Dead Sea scrolls, which are practically books that should have been included in the bible, but weren't. | | | |

| | Oh dear. Bad scholarship, gentlemen, very bad scholarship. I used to live in Israel where I studied ancient Biblical Hebrew and archaeology (Second Temple period - the time of Jesus). I also visited the Qumran caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found, and read portions of the scrolls themselves. The Dead Sea Scrolls are the oldest manuscripts on record of several portions of what Christians call the "Old Testament". For example, most of the writings of the prophet Isaiah were preserved in the scrolls, and what surprised many archaeologists was that the scrolls were nearly identical to what we read in our current Hebrew Bibles. The differences were limited to alternate spellings of certain names, which were probably based on phonetics and due to the fact that these names would be pronounced differently in that region at that time. These are differences that most archeaologists and translators consider neglible. Further comparative studies have been done on ancient manuscripts and all have conclusively proven that over 99% of the current Hebrew Bible is identical to the ancient Scriptures of 2,000+ years ago. Now, with regard to translation, most of the poorer translations admit to being paraphrases, and with a little research one can versions of the Bible with Hebrew to English translations to be as perfect as one can possibly get between two vastly different languages. Regarding the New Testament, our oldest Greek manuscripts are not confirmed to be first century. Most archeaologists believe the earliest copies we have are from about 40 AD based on the names of current officials and events which appear in the manuscripts, but we're not sure. Once again, the comparative studies between the earliest manucripts and our most recent Greek texts show negligible differences, and the chances of such incredible continuity over such a vast expanse of time are minute. Therefore some, myself included, do believe in divine inspiration and preservation of the Bible. "Backwater towns in Galilee"??? Jesus was first sent to the chosen people of God, the Jews, which is why He was born in Israel. Many Jews believed in Him then, and there are many who believe in Him now. (They're called Messianic Jews. Some of them call themselves Jews for Jesus, which is also an evangelistic organization of Jewish Christians). It was prophesied that the Messiah would be called "a Nazarene", meaning "from Nazareth" and Nazareth is in Galilee, so He had to live there to fulfill the prophecy. Even the date of His entry into Jerusalem was prophesied in the book of Daniel, and that date fell 2,000 years ago. Everything He did and everywhere He went was intentional to fulfill the prophecies and make a way of escape from the fallen nature of man and the lethal trap of sin. When He rose, He claimed victory over death and offers the same safe passage to all who would believe in His Name and worship Him as Lord. More prophecies are being fulfilled in our day, like political connections between Iran and Russia in a new way which were spoken of in Ezekiel 38 and 39, right before the return of Christ. Globalization, a nuclear threat to Israel, it was all written long ago, and we're seeing it now. Get ready. Jesus is coming. | | | |

| | I apologize for not having my facts straight. Thanks for clarifying. There are still version of the bible that were altered by man himself, like the King James version of the Bible. I know many, many people who use this version. There have been many people claiming to be jesus just in our lifetime. Michael Travesser is one of them. Yet he has a following of only 50 people or so. Why is this, if he truly is jesus? Should you believe someone if they believe they have had a divine encounter? Most of them aren't believed by the masses, even though jesus has been purported to return. Why not these men who claim to be jesus? Did jesus not have a small following in the beginning? | | | |

| | I hope people will read first the Bible. Yes, it has been re-written to accomodate different languages. God is not offering the gift of salvation to few, but to all. It is therefore necessary that it be written in different languages. | | | |

| | There are several different 'truths' in this world, or rather different interpretations of 'truth'. Some people believe that Jesus Christ is not the Messiah, or reject the entire sequence of events. Why? Because there is only a book, a book written by humans. And it's just that: humans aren't perfect, and in writing this book, some people hesitate in believing this book for this reason, or perhaps for other reasons, i wouldn't know. As for myself, I am only christian in name, though I do not believe in the religion, it's probably because I gave up on the idea that i should rely on a god for everything. It's kind of an interdependency, I guess... I mean, usually when i say something like that, i get a response about being too young, thinking i'm immortal, but that's not the case, I guess it's just that I can't believe in something that I can't see, or understand. | | | | | | |

| | I accept Jesus as Christ. The Bible has been in circulation and its a best selling book, but it is not the best read book. The Most read scripture is Holy Quran. I believe in Jesus Christ, Moses, Abraham, etc... we do not consider any distinction between them. All prophets had some signs and miracles to prove that they are the prophets of God. Moses turned walking stick to a snake, Jesus turned dead alive and cured lepers and blinds, etc. So Mohammad, Jesus, David, Moses, Elijah, John, Abraham, Noah, etc all are prophets. God revealed through them the same basic message to believe in One God only and to worship Him alone. Bible also says the same thing:- Acts:2:22: Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know Mark:12:29: And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: Peace. | | | | | | |

| | I believe in multiple gods/dieties. Jesus christ is null to me because there's no proof that he ever did exist. Also there were many other people claiming to be "jesus" back then, so I don't even think about the whole JC thing. Religion makes them all arbitrary, and religion back then, and even today, was meant to control the population. | | | | | | |

| | Why should we believe in something that is only a myth/legend/fairytale or what ever you want to call it. religion was made to give a false hope for those that opposed being ruled by a king. What proof is there to show that this person really existed, and please don't say "oh, well there is the bible, that's enough proof." Pfft, Like a few others said, The bible has been written, and re-written so many times that by now it's all a bunch of BS wrapped in a black binding. If I sacrifice myself on a cross to save the so called human race from pain or extinction, does that mean I can have some loser in a basement write a book about me? and we can call it "Just Cause" This book can go on about how I turn clear water yellow or how I turn food into brown logs or how I can convince people to love the thought of preying to an imaginary figure that lives in the heavens.... Every action has a reaction, and there is an answer to every question, just some answer can't be explained with current age technology and wisdom, but there will be a day when God is proven to be a false hope. And another thought, If we are all in some way decedents from Adam & Eve and are all so called brothers and sisters then WHY are there wars? starvation? slavery? and all these other horrible events? Why does this so called almighty make use fight our own brothers and sisters? why does he like to watch us shed the blood of out own brothers and sisters? WHY! They can't be answered with religion. | | | | | | |

| | God does not 'make' anyone do anything. People kill and do war because of pride, which essentially is that they believe tha they are better than the person they want to kill. The Bible doesn't just stop at saying that it was written by man - - it says that they were "Holy men of old, and wrote as the Holy Spirit moved upon them." There is proof of all kinds that Jesus Christ lived, died and assended. But that is something the human mind cannot comprehend, and the Bible tells us that when we are rejecting the truth, we will be sent a delusion and accept that. When it teaches that as you accept Jesus into to your heart and life as your Lord - - changes will begin in your thinking - your actions- your values and all facets of your life. It's not something YOU do - it just brings the change the the Bible said would happen. Ask anyone who has had this experience, and they'll share with you that fact. Jesus came when he was supposed to, and not a month or year later. He is still here in this world with us, and will become to you whatever you desire for Him to be in your time of need, ie; Saviour - friend- counselor, etc., even as some of His titles were spoken of in Isaiah in the Old Testament. We all need to be more tolerant with one another, and should not feel threatened just because someone has a different take on Jesus or the Bible. None of us have all of the answeres, but some of us do have 'some' of the answers to life's questions. May peace be with each of you. | | | |

| | Some of us have had horrible childhoods, and based on what the bible says in Matthew 7:7 : Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. But based on this, being abused as a child, accepting jesus and god, and then asking them to stop the pain then, it never stopped. So based on the bible and that verse, we should be able to ask, not for selfish need, but to prevent a wrongdoing. Yet it doesn't happen. It's easy to doubt that. | | | | | | |

| | Ignorance in the words of God make us to think that God is a selfish God because we cannot get from God what we want from God. God is holy so we should be holy. We are separated from God because of sin only the Lord Jesus Christ is our bridge or the way to God. John14:6 | | | |

| | But the Bible does not stop with that text. It also says that one does not get because one does not ask in faith. It's easy to give counter text like that. But Christian theology just does work in simplistic sense. For example, scientist like Polkinghorne would use scientific theories like chaos theory, quantum theory etc and to answer complex theological question. | | | |
