The main character you love to hate  |

|  Usually the main character is the character you're supposed to love and root for. The one who can do no wrong in your eyes. But sometimes that is just not the case. There are just some out there that are so bad that I'd wish for them to be killed off by their foe. I don't care if that would ruin the story or defeat the purpose of the show.
One that pops up right off the top of my head would be Inuyasha from the series of the same name. At the beginning of the series I thought he was an okay guy with a tragic past. He was only slightly annoying with his stubborn and aggressive attitude. But as the series continued, I really started to hate him. His character doesn't seem to mature at all. That shard hunting group has been traveling forever but this guy is still the bone headed guy from the beginning of the series. The fact that he is this indecisive guy that pines after this dead corpse instead of paying attention to the living girl doesn't help his case at all. I honestly wished that Sesshoumaru or even Naraku would have killed him off and put him out of his misery.
Another main character that I didn't like was Miaka from Fushigi Yugi. How the heck does this girl have so many guys falling for her? It just doesn't make sense. You would think that her weak and whiny personality would drive them away. But no...she draws them in like honey or something. I'm not too fond of weak, whiny and useless female leads and she fits that bill. It seems like every time I glanced at the screen, this girl got herself into some mess and had to be rescued by one of her guardians. I guess the only redeeming thing was that we hardly saw her in the Eikoden OVA which was a good thing.
So, who are some of the main characters that you don't like? And why?

| |  Ooh. Nice topic. But at the moment I can only think of one, and that is Raito. Why you ask? Simply because he killed my favorite character on Death Note, L. If, however, MisaMisa killed L instead of Raito for some reason or another I wouldn't have a reason to hate Raito, but that's not how the series went haha. I literally stopped watching the series just because L died, but I did watch the last episode to see Raito die. A former acquaintance was a huge Raito fangirl and she felt pity for the guy lol. I just smiled real wide and thought he deserves what he got. I actually preferred the live action movie though to be honest, over the anime and manga.

So for mine, is a character that suddenly without an accident he/she changes, a not growing character, slow character and unperceptive character. For example, Judau Ashta in Gundam ZZ, although the plot story is kinda childish, (if you have watched it) but like when his sister died (although in the end she lives), Judau doesn't look like too shocked after that episode and the story goes on. .
For the others. . Is hard to me to find what I hate, whom and why, I just loved too much for all types, -_-

| | I have seen Gundam ZZ and it was a bit too lighthearted for my taste. I guess they were trying to be a bit more funny since the previous Gundam series before that, Zeta, was too dark and depressing. Judau wasn't too bad overall, he came off as one of those characters that won't be dragged down by any circumstances. I also get what you're saying about those characters that don't develop over the course of a series too, especially those longer ones. I can't really think of one of the top of my head but there are a few side characters that are like this. | | | |

| |  japanese goku and his girly voice, early naruto (he gets better), kyon from suzumiya haruhi because I just don't like him, usagi from sailor moon cause she freaking annoying, kuniko from shangri-la same reason as kyon, jaden/judai from yugioh gx and asuka from neon genesis evangelion, they're just annoying...

Anyway, as for the character I really love to hate, it should be these two:
Naruto
Sakura
Well, I really can't blame them...I have to blame the mangakas who created them. My friends who are really addicted to naruto and *ehem* sakura, they would usually say, "Really??? Why Of all the anime characters to hate?". Really, if naruto gets any stronger, the world will get destroyed and he is already strong enough to be that err, what do you call that again?? I think it was the Hokage or something like that. It's obvious from the start that he will get that position in the future (that's the reason why he's the main character, right?). BUT, quite unfortunately, he still doesn't have that position just for the sake of not ending the anime. And for the-all- mighty Sakura, URGH. She got two years of training...but everytime I get to peek at an episode from Naruto, I always see her get beaten up. And what does she do? Shout out loud Naruto and Sasuke's name.
Sorry for my long rant >.<

I've got to say that out of the three Naruto was the least one I hated even though he was really annoying and loud. I've pretty much ranted about Sasuke in another discussion but I really can't stand this guy. He's broody, obsessive, and really self-centered. There were so many times that I wished for him to be killed off in the series. Sakura is just plain annoying. I don't care how strong she's gotten in Shippuuden. She'll always be remembered as that annoying fangirl who couldn't do anything and sucked up to Sasuke. N | | | |

| |  A very interesting question indeed. If Sakura from Naruto is considered a main character, then yes, she's the one I hate the most. Haha I really don't like her and her personality in the series. I agree about Miaka. She's not pretty at all to begin with. Haha.
