Who is the best jazz drummer? / myLot

I was speaking with a friend of mine the other day who is a drummer. He declared Buddy Rich to be the greatest jazz drummer of all time. I found it hard to argue. I tried to counter with Gene Krupa and Philly JOe Jones but my arguemnt didn't really hold up. What are you're thoughts? Was Buddy the best?

My personal favoutite Jazz drummer is Joe Morello, former drummer for Dave Brubeck. Some of his televised live solos for "Take Five" are out of this world. Despite a very conservative image typical of the era, he incarnated cool for Jazz's age of Cool.
