| Who is the best jazz drummer?  | | | |  I was speaking with a friend of mine the other day who is a drummer. He declared Buddy Rich to be the greatest jazz drummer of all time. I found it hard to argue. I tried to counter with Gene Krupa and Philly JOe Jones but my arguemnt didn't really hold up. What are you're thoughts? Was Buddy the best?

| |  My personal favoutite Jazz drummer is Joe Morello, former drummer for Dave Brubeck. Some of his televised live solos for "Take Five" are out of this world. Despite a very conservative image typical of the era, he incarnated cool for Jazz's age of Cool.
