Which do you prefer: Laptop mouse / optical mouse?  

I definitely would prefer the handheld mouse over the laptop mouse because it's much easier to navigate. The laptop mouse can really slow me down especially when I'm trying to drag something. :)

I prefer to use an optical mouse. I'm pretty good at using the laptop touchpad but when I do some photoshop work it is easier to use a real mouse. It also sucks to use the touchpad when playing fps games.

optical mouse! it's really really hard to navigate things when using touch pad (laptop's mouse) based on my own experience. there are also times when the touch pad are not responding so it's like errrr.. so annoying! hehe... and for some reasons do not use touch pad always, use optical mouse even sometimes :)

I prefer to use an optical mouse, even i am using optical mouse, but i have PC and not the laptop..

Hi cecillecarmela, I prefer to use conventional optical mouse where available.It's easier to handle, more comfortable and you can have better control.I also use laptop or pad mouse occasionally,normally I use it when do travelling since we can use it while sitting waiting in the departing lounge, it doesn't required table or more spaces.

I think it depends on the purpose. e.g. If I am playing games or creating some application using CAD, then I prefer Optical mouse because of its ease of use. But most of the time I rely on my laptop touchpad. It is more convenient than optical mouse. I also like to use keyboard shortcuts wherever possible.

I prefer optical mouse because it is easy to use and no hassle. It is more convenient and I don't have to worry for any clugging in the mouse.

I actually prefer a detached mouse, regardless if it was optical or with a mouse ball. I dont mind even those old mouse models that have those huge balls on the side that has to be rolled by the thumb.^_^

I just feel that I do a lot of work faster with a detached mouse rather than using the laptop mousepad. My whole hand is in control of the mouse actions so it would be easier for me to manipulate the direction and click the buttons that I need to click. With the laptop mousepad, I need to use my finger and I need to slide my finger more than twice just to get the mouse pointer from one end of the screen to the other. It just takes a lot of work, hand actions, and effort.

So if Im working on my computer with important documents and I am on a deadline, I use the detached optical mouse. But with just online leisure activities, I dont mine using the mousepad.

i still use my mouse instead of my laptop's touchpad. i guess, it's out of habit. because even if i'm just typing most of the time, i still prefer using my mouse. although, it was advised that this adds to your battery consumption. so, if i need to conserve battery i stick to my touchpad. but it feels, a little irritating. heheheh!

for the last 8 years that i have been using laptops, i got more used to using touchpads than the conventional detached mouse. i feel more comfortable using it on my work and even just while surfing or doing online games.

the few times that i had to use my desktop pc, i actually had a hard time dragging files from one folder to another. seems like i got too used in laptops that my attempts at using detached mouse is quite poor. hehe

so i just prefer laptops and its touchpad. more convenient for me that way.
