what will you do if you are the selector?  

First, Wriddhi just got a place in 15 team squad. It's highly unlikely that he'll get a chance to play. Pujara, too, was included in the squad in past series, but then haven't cracked into squad again after that. So there is nothing exciting in it.

Secondly, why do you people judge a player only on the basis of one or two matches ? Yusuf's overall performance this season is quite lower than earlier seasons. Besides, he's a genuine T20 player, but I doubt about his success in tests, becoz he always try to hit the ball hard(that recent century is another example !), where you need a bit composure in tests. The problem with Irfan is that despite his good domestic performance, he fails to capitalize chances he get in international matches.

Now, about the selectors - I'm totally against their decision of including Rohit as 'stand-by' of Laxman - Karthik should be given first preference for that slot. Did everyone forget that he scored runs against South Africa in South African pitches ? If selectors doesn't 'like' Karthik, then it should go to Pujara - he has been showing good form for a long time ! Why Rohit ? He, tooo, actually is best fitted fir T20s. Apart from his recent 309*, his performance is not so good that heshould be selected !

Actually I would really be happy if I were the selector. This clearly means that players take the domestic tournaments seriously and look to win their place back on the back of performance. That is really a heartening sign. Also now that we need to start planning for long term replacements for Dravid, Laxman and Tendulkar, it is really good to see some of these youngsters stepping in.

For me what is more worrying is the spin department. We still are not finding that two world class spinners that we need to be a great team.
