Do paid surveys send you junk mail?  

I am a member of a site called CIAO SURVEYS and I do not get so many spam mails , I get only notifiers about when I have a survey to complete! But, my friend is a member of a site called Survey Scout and he gets about 5 mails a day from them and looks like they are spamming him!

Always read the Privacy Policy of any site you propose to join. Reputable survey sites will NEVER share your personal information with their clients without your explicit permission.

Some surveys do require that you give them your postal code (and sometimes your actual street address). Reputable ones are careful to explain why they need this information, how it will be used and how it will NOT be used.

If you are at any time unsure about a website's data security and privacy, you should not join that site.

I joined a site once to get a rapidshare account. Although i got the account they spammed my email with about 50 emails everyday. At last i stopped using that email[. Now that email has over a 1000 mails.

For the most part I would think that they don't send out junk. The reason they collect such a large amount of information is because they are building what is called a "demographic."

If you are unfamiliar with what a demographic is, well it is a group of people that fit a certain criteria. Such as the following examples.

Simple demographic: Male, Caucasian, 21-25 years of age, lives in USA

Complex demographic: Male, Caucasian, 23-25 years of age, lives in the Little Rock area of Arkansas in the USA, likes soda, eats out 1-3 times per week, shops at Kroger stores 1-3 per month...and so an and so on for there needs.

These are how they determine what surveys you get. The company that is ordering the survey only wants people fitting certain demographics because is the audience they are targeting.

These survey companies keep there reputation by not flooding you with bogus spam and junk mail so I doubt they would risk that just to get you some advertisement. I am sure they occasionally send out an ad but nothing like flooding. Of course that only applies to the larger more reputable survey companies and maybe not the smaller less reputable ones.

I'm member from SurveySavvy, GlobalTestMarket,MindField, They not send many email. So I think, It's not junk. Maybe they just send 2-3 mails a week. Don't worry about that!

Legitimate survey sites will not ever pass on your personal information to third parties. However, there are a lot of fake surveys out there. In fact, the majority of the "surveys" available through GPT sites like CashCrate, CrownGPT, or Treasure Trooper aren't surveys at all. They're information-mining operations geared toward getting people to submit their personal information and/or sign up for one (or more) of the "great special offers" that come before the survey results.

A perfect example of this would be any and all Quiz Jungle surveys. They begin by asking you a bunch of multiple choice questions about a topic. Once you answer them, you have to "register" to get your quiz results. The form you have to fill out includes all sorts of personal information that can be passed on to other companies, and believe me--it will be passed on. You'll wind up on telemarketers' lists, junk mail lists, and in some cases you'll even end up on marketing "safelists" that are sold for profit.

Owlwings has a great suggestion, by the way. Always read the terms of service and privacy policy before submitting your personal information to any site.

Yes The GPT survey/offer's do send loads of junk email & paper mail and they give the phone number to telemarketers, thats why I use GMX.com for a second email account, and k7.net for a voice mail account and when I pick up my regular mail I just toss it right in the recycle bin. In fact with GPT it's good to use a different email address with every survey and GMX is the best and quickest with that.

well, of course these things are common for paid survey because its includes in their services. if you don't like it just put it as spam and you don't have to bother it anymore if it unimportant messages.
