Learning new language |
| |
| Do you think that to learn new language is difficult? the most difficult for me is the usage of the words. I am keen on learning Japanese but i think the grammar is a bit difficult. The most difficult is when you are required to read words in Kanji. anybody has difficulties as well in learning new language? how do you deal with it? thanks. Arigatou Gozaimasu.^^ | | | | | |

| | I tried to learn how to speak Japanese a few years ago and I found it really difficult so I quit. I see the same thing with my student when I would have to teach English as their second language. Learning a new language is difficult especially if its your first step. But it all matters on your attitude anyway. If you are persistent then it wouldn't be that difficult. | | | | | | |

| | um... i should consider your suggestion. you might be right. I found out that when i tried to learn English for my first time, i almost gave it up. but then, after the teacher changed into a funny tutor, i started to enjoy learning. ^^ | | | |

| | I plan to be a Japanese Interpreter so I have to study even harder since I haven't had any classes since before college. Although, I have found that if you make Japanese friends, go to regular classes, and try to learn a couple words a day it will become easier. You have to study really hard and it doesn't show right away but you'll start to use it more with your Japanese friends and they will help correct you as well as tell you proper slang. | | | |

| | Most of us will have a difficult time to learn new languages. I am also a person who wants to learn a new language since my hubby is Indian, they speak Hindi, Konkani and Bengali. Imagine that 3 languages will make me dizzy. So one at a time, I decided to learn Hindi first. It is difficult to read through books. My best option is to go to an institute or school that offers such, but I haven't seen yet. Hubby does not have the time to assist me on my learning curve because he is also working. So most of the time, I self study, but it is insufficient. I need inter action, it will be my best tool to learn even more. So if you have to learn Japanese, it is still best to consider other options aside from depending on a book, because it will always be hard and sadly, you are also not doing it right specially on the way to pronounce those words right. | | | | | | |

| | yeah.. you are so right. The most quick learning process is through communication. When you communicate, you improve almost every aspect of the language.. grammar, vocab, listening, speaking and comprehension. good luck with your learning of Hindi. You should force your hubby to communicate using Hindi. ^^ | | | |

| | Practice makes perfect. I have friends who speak Japanese and most of them learn to speak when they were in Japan. Some studied but they forget about it as soon as they finish schooling. You have to find a way to practice what you have learned in the classroom on your day to day dealings and with someone. Otherwise it's just going to be a waste of time and money. Cheers! | | | | | | |

| | yea, learning a new language is usually difficult! It depends on your purpose, if just for exams, then maybe not so difficult. Just remember enough words and get some dogmatic practice. If you really need it for communication, then you need lots of practical conversations. I majored in english, so school education helped me. The same with Japanese. I learnt Estonian in some informal way, it is not systematic, and it is very basic. If condition allows, I hope you get some systematic learning. | | | | | | |

| | yeah. i should try some systematic learning. You are learning Estonian.? that's cool. | | | |

| | hello cintoy, I always want to learn other language, and it needs patience and dedication. I had friends that were teaching me Hindi words, but, since it is not an actual teaching,it is really hard for me to practice and use the right words, grammar in particular. There are schools that offer special language courses, but,i don't have extra money to spend for it. As of now,i am relying for friends who are willing to teach me word for word. I hope to learn more someday too, since my Indian friend here in our place is also busy with works and we seldom meet, that, they can't teach me their language for long hours. | | | | | | |

| | If you can rely on your friends to teach you, then it's a great practice to have them. Not everyone wants to spend their time teaching someone especially languages. you should be proud to have them. | | | |

| | hi cintou.. ya, it's really difficult to learn a new language. cos we'll find new words that we never speak them. maybe like Japanese or Chinese, you should study not only the vocabularies but also how to write the alphabets..or the grammar. it's the most difficult of all. but never give up trying brotha..:) | | | | | | |

| | i believe Japanese words are easier to write than Mandarin. and I can already write Mandarin/Chinese. It's just the grammar and structure of the words that i find it hard. | | | |

| | Yes it is difficult to learn a new one. I had a nihonggo subject for two semesters. Every examinations, I got a high grade, or recitation. But after wards, all the learning dissapeard. To lean another language, you should move to their home country, to learn easily and get used to the language. | | | | | | |

| | i don't think moving to their home country is the best solution as moving to other countries for long time needs a lot of preparations, and most importantly the high cost of living there is very high. I should have my self finding a job there. thanks for responding/ | | | |
