How to learn a foreign language?Do you have any good experience about it?

I was so fortunate and blessed for having experienced being an exchange student in Japan a few years back. I found learning a foreign language really tough and stressful but because I was in Japan, I was forced to learn and to use their language to survive. It turned out to be a really nice practice, because it's definitely useless if you will not practice what you have learned. I often tell those I tutor that learning the way of writing, constructing sentences and reading are good practices but they're futile if you will not put them into practice, so i urge them to converse in the language that they're studying. I think you should do the same. Look for someone who is good in English or Japanese (or both) and have a conversation with him/her.

Practice, practice and practice! When you learn a new language there's quite a lot of mistakes you have to make (many are the same ones as children make when they learn to talk their native tongue) but as long as you don't let it stop you and keep talking, you should get better. Talking to native speakers are usually the best way, depending on your oral level you'll need someone with more or less patience. Writing, reading and listening are all important, but I find that once you start talking a lot, that helps more than the other 3.

the same puzzles with you.but,however,you should more practice it you learn,and create a adaptable circumstance to train,so you can improve your foreign level.
you can practice on the Internet at your spare time.,and read some info about the language you learn.Of course,the most important point is speaking,and familiar with vocabulary.thus,you can speak out of mouth and know about what's mean people say .

ahahaha... this problem had facing me before... for the basic step u have to improve your communication skill with native speaker... just chatting with them or join the forum like mylot...

I have studied languages in different ways. I have studied English, German and French at school (In Denmark), I have studied Italian at a language school in Italy and I have studied languages online. When I was in Italy my teacher didn't speak or understand English, that was a good thing, because I was forced to use my Italian all the time. It was very difficult in the beginning, I was a total beginner and I wasn't able express myself in Italian, but I just had to try anyway, andc I learned a lot from that experience.

I think that it is a good idea to practice as much as you can. If you don't know anyone from your local area who you can talk to in English or Japanese, you could practice English by writing a lot. You could find some penfriends who want to exchange letters or emails in the language that you want to learn. I had German lessons at school, but my penfriends definately helped me become better at German, because I got the chance to practice a lot.

It is also a good idea to watch movies or online tv in the language that you want to learn and to read magazines, books or websites. I have learned many new words that way, because I usually look up the words that I don't know.

I think it is better to make a foreign friend so that you have more chances to practise the foreign language. This is the fastest way to learn a foreign language in my opinion.
