Why can't the They Leave Well Enough Alone? |
| |
| A week after getting a new Dell computer, my camera went. Can't complain about that camera too much. Already I miss it. It was an Olympus Comedia and I bought it in 1998. With only 1.3 mega pixels. it took decent pictures right to the end. Anyway the new camera (also an Olympus) is the size of a pack of cigarettes. Why do they make them so small? Even with small hands and thin fingers, I feel like an elephant opening a peanut with his hooves every time I touch the thing. It has enough buttons to fly from NASA and my thumbs keep slipping onto the wrong knobs and blurring the pictures. When I finally got the camera to work enough to take & store some pictures, I went to my ISP's tool bar and couldn't find a way to access my ftp space. After 40 minutes of hunting and a live chat with a techie, I learned there wasn't any. Windows 7 isn't compatible with my ISP's software. Apparently I have to copy and paste something into Explorer and bookmark the site. Except I couldn't find "copy" & "paste". Seems it's now "snipping tool". This has been a rough two days. Does anybody else just wish they would leave things alone? | | | | | |

| | Hi irisheyes, I agree with you : those new cameras are really too small ! Seems like they are made for children, and I'm taking times to times photos of my fingers... The "snipping tool" is a screen capture tool : you can't copy and paste with it. To copy and paste your link in your browser, select it with the mouse and type Ctrl+C on the keyboard ; type Ctrl+V to paste it in the address bar. I wish this help you. | | | | | | |

| | Thank you. I just realized that that was the case. Unfortunately copy and paste won't help for the issue. That was just something told to me by a tech on the earthlink site to get rid of me. I swear they experiment on us. | | | |

| | It does seem like all the gizmo's are getting smaller and smaller and their cramming more and more on it. I'm lucky to be able to manuveur a keyboard so those little cellphones are out of the question. ~~AT PEACE WITHIN~~ **STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS** | | | | | | |

| | I don't know, why but I try to embrace change. But there is a lot to learn about new things. I take things in stride. Its not like its a big deal anyway. You'll learn the ins and outs of the system in no time and figure out how to make the best out of your computer. I think that's what I like best about my digital camera, its plug-in-play. Meaning I plug it into my USB drive and it works perfectly fine. | | | | | | |
