Do you believe you have a Virtual Personality in the net?

I mean think about it, if you go log in to facebook, yahoo messenger, MSN, and etc. don't you wonder your personality changes? When you talk to your friends in reality, do you think you talk to them the same in these programs? Or do you smile too much in yahoo messenger but in reality your face only makes small gestures? Or even talk so tough in the internet, like you are going to beat up someone but in the real world you are harmless.. To tell you the truth I'm more talkative here in the internet than in reality. I'm not saying I'm a mute though. haha

For those who are a bit on the reserved side, they find internet the best place to pour out their heart contents , views..etc as they feel comfortable without the glaring eyes of real people in the real world. For me I can be as vocal in real and also in the virtual world. I am who I am in both worlds. I just can't change my personality with a press of the button.

That is very healthy to do to be consistent A mature disposition makes one feel comfortable anywhere in the real world or in the virtual world. It is better to have courage and face realities of life both virtual and realistic life.

I'd rather be talkative here because no one seems to be interested in me when it comes to talking to other people. the real world sucks for most of the ordinary people but that makes me thinking, am not alone in this, i guess we should have get to go party

That is always possible for most computer users. They would somehow establish this alternate personality that they don't really get to practice when they are out there in their real existence. When we use the computer and get to communicate to a multitude of individuals using the internet, we can easily state our thoughts since we don't have inhibitions that would be due to hesitance in not knowing what kind of replies you might get in actuality. Kind'a direct in a way. You don't have to worry since its not the physical 'you' who is talking to those individuals but, the intellectual side. Its somehow dangerous though since a lot of people can just say what they want but not be responsible about it. Those who leave hate comments on sites can just leave bad remarks and even curse. Those who recceive such comments are directly offended as well. Unlike when the bad comment is said infront of them, they can still react immediately to retort or defend themselves and prove the other to be wrong or misjudging them. In my case, I guess I get to 'talk' more here on the net with the reasons that I have mentioned but, I think I also get to talk more in the actual world with those that I really know that would get my point. (^_^")

I don't change a lot. Maybe I can say better what I'm thinking than speaking. But, except this, I think I'm the same person. My friends say the same. Internet doesn't have to change you.

i think i have. Most of the friends that I have on the net were pleasantly surprised because my personality on the net is quite different from the way I look. They say that they can't believe that I typed those words because i look so serious and quiet.

My personality is the same..because whenever I'm not in the mood, it reflects in my post too. And I would post stuffs on Twitter, sometimes shout-outs on Facebook and stuff like that. Really something that is very close to my heart; nothing but my own personal and natural behavior. But I agree with you on the emoticons, I don't lol and lol all the time outside, but I like to use that a lot on the virtual world..

I think that everyone is like that. They may talk bigger online then in reality, or talk more freely. I know I used to. Now I think I talk more openly in that I talk about myself on the internet like it is in reality!

We all have a virtual personality which is daringly different from the real one as we can be more open here and at the same time we need to be careful not to hurt another as that kind of interaction specially in a forum will be deleted!!

I would have to say I agree with you. I'm not as vocal and as active offline as I am online. I'm more open and will talk to anyone about anything. However, in the real world, I'm the same way but getting me to open up is a lot more difficult. People who I have let get to know me would probably say they don't notice much of a differance.

Really the net gives a totally different environment. Even in real world, i am not able to interact much with real people. But in net i am able to exchange my views of all the really world situations. It gives me different experiences. if i get some responses online, then i react to the responses.

i'm what i'm, there is no change, because i can't be others. but sometimes i don't believe to people in net, because of we don't know their personality at all. sometimes i annoyed to people who can eaily said 'i love you', even they dont know us.

You are right. What we project is not our true self but just a facade of ourselves. Our name would reveal our ethnicity but we hide that too. In the real world, people see us and know us from our body language, our facial expression. Here we tend to hide everything. Here we put our best foot forward. Our best manners are in parade. In real world, we reveal much about ourselves. Besides, people here think that they can get away after saying certain things, in real world they might not dare to say those things.

Honestly, mine does change. Online, I am able to more freely express what is on my mind, versus appeasing those that are around me physically. In my mind, I smile often and am content often. I have bad teeth in actuality and I look really silly smiling, so I don't do it physically. I also have a quiet, scratchy little voice and have a very poor verbal communication level. Online is writing, and the words flow from my mind quickly, with ease. My typing skill can almost keep up with my flow of thought, as opposed to my verbal .. always wondering if people can hear or understand me, or if the words come out in correct order. But that's really the extent of it (:

hello nykel, to be honest, i am a lot convenient in sharing some of my ideas here rather than in real life. frankly, in real-life either no one listens and looks or simple they didn't give a damn. that's why i am lucky to have been at least funny and talkative in this site.
