is your mother-in-law , like your mother?  

Although i don't have my mother in law yet, hope I'm welcome to answer this question!

I wish my mother law to be is most likely as my mom..I have read a lot of stories between a mother in law and a daughter in law and son in law, relationship,majority of mother in law and son/daughter in law not having a good contact or let say a harmonious relationship. I can remember my mom keeps telling " A mother in law should be respected more than you respect a your own mom..".So this word from my mom make me wish a harmonious relationship with my mom in law (in the future)..I hope she will not feel I taking her son attention towards her, i hope she will not even jealous about me and her son, and most of all i hope she will not step in a way that she know she will hurt me..

I wish she could be a second mother to me,not to hesitate about anything..ANyway we may not know but i keep praying for this.,,just hope ..Who knows!!

Like Cloud31, she isnt my mother-in-law yet, but Ill answer anyways.
I dont think ofher like my motehr and she certainly dosnt think of me as her daughter but she is like my mother - the the most literal way.
They act a likein the general sense but arnt a like. Im not a hige fan of my mom but at least I can stand her. His mother however, I do not like at all.
She is far too aggressive and although she says she likes me, I can tell she likes me just as much as I like her.
Problem with all of this is that she and him are quite close.

hi ksmita well my mother_in_law always lived in Washington state and we lived in Arizona at that time.we did go to visit her once and she turned
out to be a lovely lady who I enjoyed very much.Maybe because we were not able to see each other all the time, we got along splendidly. But I had the feeling that I would have gotten along fine with her, a lot l ike with my own mom. I liked her very much, and she was always most pleasant with me. no problems at all.

My mother in law is extra special, in fact I told my husband (in a joke) that if we ever break up I would get her in the divorce. She is funny, and sweet and the kids love her. She passes judgement on no one and she is very nurturing. I love her.

We can't deny it. Mother-in-laws will never be our real mothers. No one can replace our real mothers who loves us no matter what. Anyway, I felt a little awkward when I met my mother-in-law for the first time.I'm sure she felt the same way too. The first meeting was like hi and hello, how are the kids ( I'm happy she asked for the kids and she's very concerned ) and it ended there. I will also understand if she doesn;t like me that much for her son considering that my husband's her favorite but I would like to believe that she is a good person and that she will eventually accept the fact that her beloved son is now married and that marriage is the vocation he has chosen.
