Will you have the courage to live on if you lost sight?  

Yes, i heard of that too. If a person is blind or something, his other senses are quite keen. As you said, it may make life a little bit easier but not as easy as normal people's life. I totally understand that this is a difficult question for everyone to give an answer. Only when we are under that kind of situation can we really know whether we'll have the courage to live on or go to despair.

I know a person that is blind. He does almost everything that people do that has sight. When he would come over to our house he actually play nintendo with us. We would tell him if he needed to move to the right or left. He won quite a lot. We didn't even let him win he just practiced a lot and used the other senses to help him. I admire people that are blind. I don't know if that is something I could handle. I guess I wouldn't know unless it happened to me.

Blind people can be unbelievable for me sometimes, I cannot imagine how hard it is for them, and then to see them smile, being happy and doings amazing things, I have total respect for such people.

Blind people are kind of miracle to me. They can do exactly what normal people do, like reading, writing, working and so on, and even do lots of things that are beyond normal people's ability. They really deserve our respect.

It's great of you to think that way. You show care for your loved ones and also your responsibility of supporting your family. Not all the people are able to live on bravely if that happened. Many of them just choose to end their lives or are overcome by despair.

I'm not ashamed to say I would end my life if I become blind, not because it would be hard to life, but for me the meaning of life is sight since I'm and graphic artist, I simply won't have a reason to live, not even family, I won't want to be a burden waiting for death to come, you must understand that some people simply doesn't have a choice when choosing to end their life, in USA it's a negative and shameful thing, but in Japan it's a honorable way to move on, so while I respect those who continues to live on happily, I can understand and respect the decision of someone taking their lives.

I learned about japanese culture and i totally respect that way of life. When s person is on the verge of despair, he sees no meaning in his continual existence and he just chooses what is right for him. This should not be regarded as weakness.

Yes, in our lives, we may have to face many situations when we have no other alternatives but to choose a road which is destined to be hard and full of danger, like the case of losing sight. If it really falls to us, we can do nothing but move on and make every effort to make the best of it.

Well I think everyone in life it's on a thin path of sand, paranoia and madness are on each side, lose balance and you are lost, but as I said before, I would rather end that path honorably rather than live miserable as an burden.

I agree with what you said. If a person lost his sight and all hope for future, he would lead a rather miserable life even if he had no other choice but to live on. A miserable life is far worse that end his life in an honorable way which frees his mind and soul.

Yes. losing sight is nothing compared to death. As long as we have courage to face death, we have courage to face everything. Life provides us with so many beautiful things, we should learn how to appreciate them and enjoy them.

I agree that being born blind is better than losing sight for other reasons. People who were born blind have no chance to see all the color things in the world, and they probably have no regrets for blind. But if a person lost sight on the mid-way, it's extremely hard for him to be accustomed to the dark world. Whatever it is, we should always have faith and courage to face all kinds of challenges.

I totally agree, if you are not born without a sense, you don't feel it's need at all, for example we don't feel the need to track down people like wolfs do, or have sonars like spiders do, but in the case of blindness it's a bit different, firstly you hear people having sight and you have eyes, that creates a need to have sight, it my not be strong as those who lose their sight in mid-way, but it's definitely there, that is what I think.

Definitely. Losing one's sight on the midway is far worse. One will find it hard to cope with all the difficulties in front of him. Without an optimistic attitude toward life, it's easy for one to go to extremes.

Everyone is fearful of the idea that he may lose sight someday. As it happens, he still has to go on with his life as there is no other choice expect end his life which i believe is beyond everyone's consideration.

Though God does not exist in my religion, i wholly respect your way of thinking. Whatever falls on people, it is in the God's power to determine. He owes every reason for what happens to people and what should people do with everything. He's always guiding people on their way.

Thanks for responding. We've talked a lot about people born blind. They have no opportunity to enjoy the colorful world ever since their birth, and they'll have no strong desire to really see things in the world however beautiful it is described by others. Compared with people who lost sight in mid-way, they are more lucky.

Although it is a difficult issue to face, we always need to be confident in our ability to overcome adversities.
