Do you feel ashamed of earning online?  

Hi, friend. Thanks for responding. I think you did a right thing to tell others a way of making a living by working online. That's good for people struggling on the poverty line. Only even if they work hard, they will be able to making a decent living, at least many people have already proved that they are earning good bucks online. But the people in my surroundings do not believe that money can even be earned online. Even if it's possible, it's only a few cents. Actually, i once tried to tell one of my friends that i was earning in mylot by posting. She just felt doubtful and said "if you really can earn $5 a day, then i'll join too". As you know, that's impossible. So i had given up looking for referrals since a long ago.

Hello catgods, you really did a good job. Good to know that you are trying to help other people in need. I just hope I meet you before. So that you could have convince me and informed me to earn income at the early age. I am still trying to learn all of this at my age. I am trying to catch and grasp the in and out of this online earning.

Well for you chenxiaoyue, I hope you gather your courage in informing your classmates about this earning online. Who knows, your classmates might also interested about it. Then you could be rich because of them. I guess you no longer needed those referrals because you are earning a lot now.

Thanks, friend. I'm already thinking of informing my friends of this online earning thing. But you are totally wrong in saying i'm earning a lot now because i've never made as much as or over $0.50 a day. I know many mylotters are able to make around one or two dollars a day.

Absolutely right. As far as we earn in a legit way, there is nothing to be ashamed of. To me, it is only a kind of prejudice against online earning. Thanks for your feedback.

Mylot indeed helps many non-native english speakers with their english, and that's one of the reasons that mylot could arouse so many people's attention. I bet your friends and classmates will admire you and even envy you if you tell them that your good command of english largely due to practice in mylot and you are even get paid for doing that.

Yes, no matter what other people think about online earning, i can at least share my thoughts with mylot friends who will never thought of laughing at me. This community is one that outsiders can never truly understand. I'm really happy that i've never thought of quitting mylot from the first day of being here.

Thanks for responding. Ever since i grown up, i managed to be independent, not getting financial support from my parents. So i figured a long time ago that online earning might be a good way for me to get out of financial difficulty.

Perhaps you are right. They just don't know anything about online earning. There are still many people having no idea of making money online. But as to my friends and classmates, the reasons that they hold a negative attitude toward online earning are that they are in complete ignorance of online earning on the one hand; on the other hand, they doubt the possibility of becoming better off through online earning, which, i have to admit, is of no great probablity.

But to my classmates and friends, a person can never become better off through online earning. It's the small amount that they look down upon.

Your friends have the wrong mind set. Just take a look at the income of MSN, YAHOO, GOOGLE, AMAZON, EBAY. Those are all companies that are all successful on line businesses. They generate millions if not billions of income annually. Just like having a regular job, you need to put hard work and you should know your craft if you want to be successful. In the online business, its basically the same. It may be hard to earn online but if you have the vision then you will likely succeed. A lot are not earning that much since they don't know how to but i'm sure there are a lot who earns a decent amount. There are even some members here who claim that they were able to pay for their vacations partly from their online earnings. Just like in anything we do, if we put hard work and dedication to whatever endeavor, we will likely succeed. I'm not saying that i'm earning big online because i don't. I have a regular job and the earning i get online is just extra money. It may not be that much, but hey, no body will give you money for free.

Hi, friend. I guess you are right. It seems my friends do not have a right attitude toward online earning. Certainly they know successful online earning stories like Google, Amazon and so on, but they never believe they could be one of them. Most of them prefer to have a fixed job so they don't need to worry about being fired. Compared with a fixed job, online earning is more flexible but with more risks. You may lose job at any time. But as you said, whatever we do, we need to be dedicated to it, and this is what I'm doing now with online earning.

I totally understand. If we referred a friend to a site which may turn to scam later, the friend will perhaps blame us. Persuading friends to join in a site as our referrals is somewhat a dilemma.

Yeah I agree with you. There's a difference between having friends online and making them referrals, than friends who don't have an idea about it. Online friends won't blame you for it(I think) They already know how making money online works..

Absolutely right. That's why I prefer to recommend online friends to be my referrals rather than friends in reality.

Thanks for your kind advice, friend. I'm talking about what happened when i was a postgraduate three years ago. I've already graduated last year and have a well-paid job. I just remember that time and want to share some of my thoughts with all of you. Though i have no need to worry about money now, i still value the opportunity of posting in mylot. As i've gone through a long way of earning online, i now know more about online earning. It is definitely not a shameful thing. There are many rich people here. They value communication more than earning.

Hi, friend. I'm most impressed by what you said. It is true that not everyone earning online has financial difficulties. I have a full-time job now and don't need to worry about money any more, but i'm still here each day posting. It gives of a lot of fun and surprise.

I think there are three reasons: first some people just feel ashamed of talking about money in general. This is hard to explain why, but seems to me, I should think about that.

The second reason in my opinion is that if you finally come to speaking about money it's always easier to talk about big, challenging projects that will give amazing money and this is obviously reason to be proud of. However nobody is proud for earning little by little, cent by cent. The point is that not many people respect money. That's it. People don't understand that you just can't make big money from the very beginning. If you don't start with little things, you will never do big things.

Furthermore it seems to me, this is a kind of cultural case, I mean it depends on cultural environment, where do you live, defines what is your reference to money.

You gave an accurate explanation, friend. I agree that people's general attitude toward money is related to where they are from. In my country, I feel that many people are quite hypocritical about money. Though they may be under financial difficulty, they never let others know about it. They seem to feel humiliated. Perhaps it's because of this that they feel ashamed of earning online.
