In windows7 i am not able to install microsoft SQL Server 2005 or 2008,
it shows the incompatibility issues with this. what should i do to install sql server, as i am in need of installing the sql server. what you say

Download the file and try running it as Administrator - I have not tried it but the Microsoft download page tells that you need the admin's permission for installing and the specs are all good and fine!

brother try to use that setup in compatibility mode and then right click and run as administrator.. this can surely be solution to ur problem...

i have tried but it has some compatibility issues. i have all the administrative rights. any way thanks for response.

Yes!!sure you that when you tried to install the sql server was under the administration profile on your windows system!!Normally you cna install and setup this only if you have the administration key!!So i don't think that windows 7 is not compatible with new microsoft system!!

HI anurag, You can try editing the compatibility (on the properties of the installer) if other peoples suggestion won't work. Also, you can try installing it using add/remove programs on the control panel :) god luck to you :)

I have not more knowledge about windows 7.. because i used windows Xp.. so i have no information about windows 7.. i think.. this is possibility that you have missing any important files of sql server.. so you may faces problem of installing it.. i think you again download it from internet.. and after that install it.. i think.. your problem may be solved.. please try it.. have a nice day and keep mylotting always.. happy
