hi pikey oh you are so right guys willjust put off going even when they are really hurting. I had finally got my husband to go to the doctor as he was really suffering from what he kept saying was hemmorrhoids, but they took a biopsy and it came back negative, but he continued to be in horrible pain so I made him go to the gynecologist we had been recommded to, and he said get your husband to UCI med.center as this is definitely cancer, it came off in my hand, so he went back and another biopsy showed cancer definitely, they cut out a lot of his colon and all the lympth nodes and had to give him a emptying hole in his tummy as the whole rectal area was cancerous. He did fine and was cancer free, but he died from smoking three packs of cigarettes every day , tenyears later. I remember begging, pleading,insisting he quit smoking but he just could not do it, the doctors had all sorts of quit smoking plans b ut he wou ld not do it at all.the sad thing is you can try to help but if the smoker does not want to stop you cannot force him. three heart attacks in a week and he was gone like that. I have always checked myself but men are so
against going to the doctor. but he had a chance to grow old with me, an he turned it down for a dumb cigarette.s ad but true.

Hello, Pikey. My husband has cirrhosis, and he knows it, but because the last liver function came back normal, he thinks he's teflon coated. He knows he shouldn't drink, but he still does. If I say anything, it's my fault, because if I hadn't made him go to the specialist, we wouldn't have known he had cirrhosis, so he could have carried on drinking without worrying.

The minor detail that if I hadn't got him to the specialist almost three years ago, he would have died within months seems to have escaped him. He's had an extra 2 years because I dragged him to the doctors, but I'm the villain for upsetting the apple cart. Oh well, you do what you have to do, and I'd do it again.

Ok, so what exacxtly am I supposed to be checking down there? Forget a regular check up, my husband doesn't like going to doctors and neither does he like us going. He's a pharmacologist working towards his Doctorate and I have to admit his advice has always been better than that of a doctor's. Unless it's really really necessary, none of us visit a hospital or a doctor.
So, what is it I need to check? Not that my husband's going to go to the doctor just because I insist.

But yeah, I check myself all the time, and he is always examining himself, too, so no worries.
