| toilet training puppy patterdale male | | | | Help, my patterdale x jack russell is 14 weeks old and prooving to be quite difficult to toilet train. He is crated at night, and is taken out to go to the toilet approximately every 20 minutes, also STRAIGHT AFTER MEALS. He is quite consistently doing small wees around the house inbetween going outside, is this territorial, or just because he has not learnt to hold his bladder sufficiently? | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |

| | Hi - 14 weeks is very young for a puppy to be housetrained. It has been done but mostly dog handlers say that up to six months you can expect small accidents. Probably more related to him not being able to control his bladder sufficiently yet. You can get puppy training pads (in England) and you praise the little doggy profusely when he uses one of them to have an accident on. Then, as he gets used to using them, hopefully, you can move them nearer and nearer the door through which you let him into the garden. Also praise him when he goes outside. Never ever rub his nose in the wee, he won't understand that and it can cause damage to the inside of his nose. He will get better, he will - honest, but puppies are a bit hard work. I am sure in six months he will be fine and you will have a dog that never has accidents. | | | | | | | | | | Facial Surgery Experts Face Lifts, Eye Lifts with Board-Certified Cosmetic Surgeons at PSA www.psa-gr.com | add comment | | | |
