Why can't you walk around a wedding dress store?  

Annoying for dress consultants to escort you, but that sounds understandable, I guess. Certain stores carry very expensive designer gowns and it would make sense to escort customers around to prevent harm to those gowns. Brides-to-be are very particular and most of them probably won't purchase an expensive dress with a stain on it. Sometimes people carry around food or drink while shopping for clothes and might accidentally get a stain on what they touch. Sometimes customers accidentally stretch or tear embroidery or bead threads by touching the dresses too roughly. Keeping an eye on customers would be the best way to protect the dresses for an eventual sale.

When I went to buy a wedding dress I was told that I had make an appointment a few months before I wanted to buy the dress, and when I got there one of the shop assistents helped me find the right dress. She didn't help any other costumers during that time, her and I were together all the time and when I wanted to try on a new dress etc she got the things for me. I wasn't allowed to touch anything myself and I wasn't allowed to put the dress on by myself. I think they were afraid that I would damage the wedding dresses if I picked up the clothes myself, because they are really expensive.

Couple reasons probably
1. they want to make a sale and if they aren't there, chances of a sale could be gone.
2. they want to make sure no one damages the dresses. I have seen those shows to and some of them dresses are pretty detailed and have attachments and all. I can see why they'd want to have a person there to handle them and make sure they were handled right.
3. They want you to try them on to see the full effect so that they can make a sale. No experience, but I'd be willing to bet that it is a bit difficult to crawl into some of those dresses alone!

I imagine it has something to do with the fact that so much of their merchandise is white and very pricey. All it would take is for someone with dirty hands to touch one of the dresses and have it be ruined. Thats just my guess. It would be pretty difficult to steal a wedding dress so I can't imagine that is their reason.

Ive walked round a wedding dress store without being escorted, It does make sense however as these wedding dresses cost a lot of money, and would be very easy to damage, so its probably to save loss of money.

i rather want to check wedding dresses online and have it made for me than go to any store to check them out. actually those salesgirl who follow us just want to give us assistant like if we want to ask something so they can answer it but it doesnt mean taht they are thinking abd to us, its actually there job so if theres someone following me in store i just tell them to let me choose and just call them if i want to ask something so they will stop.
