For the ladies living alone, are you well protected?

First off, let me say, I am not starting this discussion to have a 'battle' over guns, gun laws, etc. I was just curious as to how many single women own there own protection? Do you keep a weapon at your home? I was born in raised in Texas and as such grew up around guns, hunting, etc. I do have my own 'protection', I feel sorry for the idiot that would try to break into my home, I will defend it. If you don't have a weapon, how do you protect yourself and your belongs should someone try to break into your home, while you are there?

I pity the fool that messes with me or my house. Why? Well, I fought off 2 guys who were trying to carry me to a car and the roomie put a guy in the hospital after he grabbed her.

Dont worry I think most of us knew what you meant at least I do haha. As for weather or not I'm protected well I'd say I'm as safe as I can be I lock my windows and doors at night and I plan to add a security system soon I think all anyone can do weather there living alone or with someone is basically lock your doors include deadbolt and chain if you have one, and be careful who you invite in your home apt etc, and be aware of your surrounding's when your outside make sure your not being watched or fallowed when your in a public place I hear that many people especially females are being abducted at supermarkets and shopping malls. but yes I beleave I'm being as safe as I can be, I dont really live completly alone because my family is always close by or around but I think everyone should do what they can do be safe even those dont live alone.

I too have key deadbolt locks on the doors, actually they were already installed when I moved in. I also have a dog, that can sound much bigger than she actually is, and would alert me to anyone or anything being around. And good point, you always need to be very aware of your surroundings, especially when out shopping alone or in the evening.

I am a woman who lives alone as my husband is working abroad. I don't live alone in a house. I live with lots of girls in a ladies hostel. But, I go alone for shopping, work, etc. and that is what I mean alone. I don't think I am well-protected because I am facing problems. Last weekend, I went for shopping alone and one guy followed me througout the shopping in the same mall. When I moved to a different floor, he came to that floor. I was kind of irritated and worried, but he didn't attempt to talk to me or created any other problem.

I live alone and i would say that the place where i stay is safe coz theres 2 gate before your reach the building. first gate is the main gate where every one can enter including cars, second gate is in the main building and theres a guard thats why no one can enter if you didnt live here. besides i choose the first floor just near the guard, and theres also a rotating guard every hours to check if theres garbage outside each room or if theres suspicious in the place.
