Snap judgement |
| |
| People are fond of making snap judgements. they say they can't control it but it's okay 'cuz it's nothing serious. really? doesn't that result on unintentionally spreading a rumor about someone? you judge someone and you think you're so sure about your judgement then tell it to your friends, thus, spreading a rumor. in another hand, you're destroying someone elses name unintentionally. so tell me how is this not serious? | | | | | |

| | Your welcome. Just being realistic cuz some people just wanna smile all the time even if someone is already dumping on his/her face. These things happen right? And you're right. I keep my opinions about an individual to myself. But others just won't and just keeps on talking like they know everything. Thanks for sharing. :) | | | |

| | These things happen indeed , i just hate it when irresponsible people do these kinds of stuff from time to time. Good thing we are still sane enough to just ignore them most of the time lol | | | |

| | Hi, generally this happens with me, some people get me wrong, only because i seem to be a very serious kind of person and a very formal one too, only if they give me sometime to open up, they would know i am a very friendly person. Some of my friends say i scare away some people at times. .. They get the wrong impression about me even before knowing me.! It is a bad thing i agree, i wish people could just understand i need some time to open up that is all. Now talking about myself talking about others, i don't really do it, i don't want to say things about others, coz i know i might be wrong, just as wrong as some people take me. | | | | | | |

| | Yes. That is true. This happens with everybody and it's inevitable. Sometimes i just feel like it's not worth it tackling about it but it's really not. Some small things can really result to massive damage and it's something we need to worry about. Thanks for sharing your experience. | | | |

| | well... girls like us do that most of the time, it was like part of our normal conversations or girl talk bonding, and in my part, I usually avoid to be the source of a rumor otherwise I would feel really guilty like my conscience would haunt me and swore to God not to spill some beans again.. besides I don't normally judge people instantly 'coz I don't easily get affected with their clashing personalities.. and as what I observed, those judgmental people thinks they're cool when they tell everyone they know something that a lot of them don't. Funny, I just remember the T-shirt my bestfriend have with a statement saying "I silently judge you".. according to her it's the perfect shirt to describe her personality.. lol. maybe, as human as we are, if we unintentionally tend to judge someone, its better to keep it to ourselves, just do it silently... in your head so no one can hear.. | | | | | | |

| | yeah. it is human nature. the thing is, one of my friends stabbed someone through the hand cuz of a simple rumor. i didn't usually care if i hear rumors about my friends that's why i didn't tell him. the rumor is for me to judge cuz they're my friends. i know them well. well, this friend is not really that physical when it comes to something like this. we were hanging out at a spot when this group came in pointing at him and saying stuff as if he couldn't hear it but all of us could actually hear it. my friend was eating a food on stick and when he finished it, he took one of the guy's hands and stabbed it. the stick went through and it was awful. now, if a rumor could do something like this, i'd think twice before saying something. | | | |

| | I think that it depends more on what you do with the snap judgment than whether or not you make them. I believe that most people have a tendency to make snap decisions (or judgments), and sometimes these judgments can save a life, such as choosing not to walk down a certain road alone when they see what they decide is a creepy-looking person walking towards them. On the other hand, if they decide that this person is a serial-killer based on his or her looks and then start telling everybody that the other person has killed people - that would be serious and harmful. I don't think it is necessarily the judgment that is harmful, because a person's opinion or judgment can change when he or she learns more facts about the other person and there would be no harm done from the original snap judgment. If the person making a snap judgment about somebody else starts talking about the other person like his or her judgment is a fact, however, that is where the negative effects begin, in my opinion. | | | | | | |

| | Your opinion is right. The harm starts when you spread the judgement. I guess my description isn't clear enough. Thanks for this response and i hope everyone reads this. | | | |
