Cats are obligate carnivores which means that they have to eat a meat based diet. They will eat small amounts of vagetables, but they cannot survive on a diet that is totally vegetarian. If you do not like to handle meat based cat foods, then feed your cat on a dry food diet. Most cats are quite happy with that, but if they have not been brought up with that sort of dry diet from kittenhood, they are still liable to prefer wet meat based food and most cats like a mixture of wet and dry foods. If you feed a totally dry diet, you must make sure that there is plenty of water available at all times.

Just like people cats need a balanced diet. If you have a cat as a pet, then they get this diet in the food you buy. It is advised to keep your cat on a strict cat food-only diet. If you venture to give them human food for any reason, they will usually go for meet products. Be sure you don't season it with human seasonings before giving it to them though, because some seasonings are actually harmful. For teeth cleanlessness try an all dry food diet. But, if your cat has trouble eating the dry food give them wet.

Cats are carnivores, so naturally they eat meat. It's inborn in cats. So if you try feeding them with vegetables or non-meat food, I don't think they will be interested, unless they are starving. If feeding cats with meat bothers you, you could easily get those cat food from your convenience stores. They look more like some kind of tidbits than meat.

If cats didn't need meat, they would never catch mice.
