Have you heard about this show?
I think there's a Brittish version, and now there's one airing in the US [about the US]. I have been watching it, and I am really liking it.
I have always had strong feelings abut the way food is factory farmed and produced in this country and fully support what Jamie Oliver is trying to do on the show.
I just wish people actually cared about the quality of their food and where its actually coming from. So many Americans just don't care as long as it "tastes good."

I don't watch "reality" shows but this one is more of a documentary and I love it! I believe in what he is trying to do and he has his work cut out for him in the U.S. I love my country but we've really done a disservice to our children. When I was little I knew that Grandpa had a steer butchered each year for the family, Grandma told us how they used to kill chickens. We gathered eggs for breakfast and helped mom and grandma bake bread. We never knew what processed food was!
Processed food is poison. I avoid it like the plague but I do indulge sometimes. When I do, I don't feel quite right physically for the rest of the day, it's so full of chemicals and salt and sugar. I don't see how anyone can look at children who are overweight and not want to do something about what they eat.

I have watched the British version and I did watch a couple of the American version. It depends on whether I am home at the time to see the American version as sometimes we have appointments on the same day (probably will watch it on the Food Network channel when it becomes available,) but this is more then eating chickens from factory produced farms. It is about the danger of eating fries and chips, deep fried food mostly carbohydrates and not eating enough fruits and vegetables.
Too many people concentrate on the "how horrible that all these hens are packed like sardines and do not have enough exercise" instead of Jamie's real message, which is to get us to eat healthier. I liked when the University students had a dance and cooking demonstration to make cooking fun. I also liked it when Jamie showed that even with a wok or a frying pan, some beef, noodles, and vegetables, one can prepare a tasty dish.
