| pedestrian crossings:do filipino drivers and pedestrians understand its purpose?  | | | |  Here in the philippines, crossing the streets is like playing a game of life and death. When it comes to traffic rules and regulations i do follow it by the book. People cross only on pedestrian lanes and cars slows down. That should be the case. But i have observed that people are the ones that stand still until the car passes through. Then what is the use of the pedestrian lane then? Should we just get rid of the lanes and let people cross wherever and whenever they like?

| |  I don't know about you, but there are locations where I find it impractical to use the Pedestrian lane because they are more likely located in danger zones. I have seen Ped lanes here in our city which is slanted instead of straight and you have to walk a long way before you got there when the buildings are across each other and it's easy to just go straight (wanting to be away from the sun).
Though generally I would follow the traffic rules.

| |  I also follow the rules but you know as they say: 'rules are meant to be broken'. Sometimes people just don't think anymore as long as they get to where they're going. Especially those that're always on the hurry. They don't mind anymore that they're breaking the rules. They think that they can always get away from it that's why they do it.
