Would you take your neighbours parking space  

My father-in-law had to pay for a permit to park outside his own house but, he would often return to find the space taken especially in the summer months because it was a town which attracted holidaymakers. It annoys me when people visit my neighbour (who has space for at least 4 cars on her drive) and they partially block my gateway.
I think, in a residential street or parking area, it should be reasonable to expect people to show some courtesy.

well it depends do you live in a community where it is safe to speak up or do you live in a community where you believe you would get shot for what you said cause if you are live with people that are nice around you i don't think they would mind you speaking up for what you believe in unless you try to start a fight about then you would go down and most likely be shot or stabbed so all i can say is just speak up maybe you will get what you want or just live with it soon or later the problem will go away online time shall tell my friend have a nice day.

Thankfully I have a garage. I do know of other places where people are so rude to do the same thing. They will have the 3 or 4 cars and park where ever they want with not a bit of regard for their neighbors. Its really aggravating and can cause alot of turmoil in the neighborhood. These are people who don't have a bit of respect for anyone and they think they rule the block they live on. Your mother should not have to be spending money when there is a car outside. I know back where I use to live people would put their garbage cans in the parking space to prevent others from parking there but that can result in fights too. Its just not right. That is why I would not want to live somewhere with out a garage or driveway.

Takes me back in time! I once had a neighbour who always parked in front of my house instead of his own. His silly little car was pushed back into its rightful place whenever I arrived home. Don't you just love those old cars with bumpers! One day, the neighbour must have forgotten the hand brake because when I locked bumpers and gave it a good shove, it kept going and going. It ended up past two or three houses the other side. Next day, that car was neatly parked outside the correct house. No more trouble.

I think that take parking space of others are not good. it is bad and illegal things. Evey body Must understand one thing that all persons person have equal rights to park their own cars and other vehicles. study manners . we must understand one thing neighbor is my brother. do not hurt anybody else.

This one of my battles with my neighbors because our house is located in the corner and before, all of our neighbors would just park their cars in front of our house. My mom always has to fight with my neighbors because of this, and one neighbor even snootily informed her that we don't even have a car, so why ask to have that space empty. The situation gets worse during Christmas where all of their guests took up all the parking spaces, including the front of our house and my guests had to look for other places to park. And since its Christmas, I could not go down and ask them to remove their cars because I am no match between a guy with a beer bottle in his hand who has been drinking since 5 in the morning.

Its not like we don't have garages. Yes, the garage can accommodate just one car, but in my neighbors' instance, they have to park all their cars by the road. This is one of the reasons why our neighbors refuse to talk to us, its because we keep fighting for the space in front of our house which is rightfully ours.

That is so rude. I wouldn't want to offend my neighbor since they would be right next door. My parents have a problem with where they can park because of one of their neighbors. Their neighbors park two of their cars in their own driveway, and one across the street from their house. This makes backing out of my parent's driveway a little tricky. Go to far and you'll hit the car they parked on the opposite of the street. Also, when their neighbors have company, their company parks in front of my parent's mailbox. And the mail person won't get out of their vehicle to put the mail in the box if a car is blocking it. So far my parent's haven't said anything. I guess they are more tolerant than I would be.

Oh yes I know what you are going through..it is nearly beyond human dignity here with the parking..why they will nearly kill you to take your parking space..

This little place where I live is like that..

It is driving me bonkers..If I didn't absolutely need the car to get to doctors and the like...I would get rid of it too, but sadly I very much need it and just have to fight out here.

We used to live in an apartment complex right next to a company. In our apartment building everyone was assigned a parking spot outside our building, but every morning when I went to work and come back, it would be taken by someone who would work at the company next to our building. I used to leave notes on the peoples car, and most of the time the same car did not park there again, but then just someone else would. It was a constant struggle and really bothersome. I was so happy when we moved away from there just because of how mad I got when I came home from work and had to park really far away in a public parking spot, just because my space was taken :(

You are totally in your right to get annoyed about it I know I would
It is lack of respect knowing that you live there and have a car
They have 2-3 Cars so they can park their Cars further away if they do not have enough room on their part of the Road
I think it is rude for People to do that
