Get a Broadband! It is good. If you have a device that has WiFi accessing capability in it, then you can get a Wifi router for 1000 rupees in a computer store instead of paying extra rental monthly!!!

Yeah, there you go.
There are also service providers that could add a laptop included in the package for the wifi internet. You should take a look at their offers.
It is indeed to get your own connection (should finance allow you) because doing your internet browsing, etc. in public places is dangerous and too public.

There is nothing such back here in India - you have a Data car wifi, a router wifi and a flash drive wifi.
3G is very infamous here.

In the line of internet connection, you actually get what you pay for.
Dial-up - lesser cost; lesser speed; the need for a phone line to connect.
Broadband - faster than Dial-up; speed depends on the 'package' you could afford; best if you're using pc's or desktops rather than laptops, but you could also use it with laptops provided you buy a wireless router (additional cost).
Wifi - Depends on the structure of your home, not recommended if you have a lot of walls and ceilings (like our house) since there's a tendency that you'd lose kbs per wall/ceiling you have to go through. Good if you use a laptop or wireless gadgets.
It's basically about what you need and how much you could afford. Try to look into the options I have presented and try to see what 'packages' your local service provider could give you.
I am using a Broadband modem with wireless router since there's about 4 desktops here in this house and 2 wireless gadgets. We have about 2MBPS speed on the average. But, like what I've said earlier - you get what you pay for.

Hiii there
First thing for what you need internet connection?Just for browsing or email checking? If it is the case then go for any internet connection. If you need it for professional reason like for online stock market trading or something else. Then you need to have fast internet connection so give preference to broadband. If in your area wi fi connection is fast then o for it.
If you travel frequently then go for data card connections.

Hi friend,
Dialup connection will be very slow, it will require a landline telephone connection, a dial up modem. The reponse will be very slow for today's Bandwidth hungry internet applications.
Broadband connection is good option. It gives good speed. Will require a landline telephone connection, a ADSL Modem.
If you want wireless broadband (Wi-fi)connection theses days they are also available with reasonably good speed. Problem with them is they slow down if too many users are using the Bandwidth. They will require wireless modem.
I will suggest to go for wired broadband if you have Landline telephone connection.

Broadband is good and fast. Dial-up in our country has the slowest connection. I don't really know about Wi-Fi but i think you have to get a router for that.

sach143_u which connection do you use now?
If surfing web I think its enough
If you want to download movies etc go for broadband.
What is abt wi-fi I don't understand,You need to take a connection then use wi-fi router to use internet on Wi Fi enabled devices..
If you are trying tell abt wimax,it is not yet available in india.
Check the ISP websites for tariff and other details eg:offers,gifts...
Tell you what comment on replies man,it will increase your future query responses....
