Here is how I improved my eyes with diet. I still wear glasses and have cateracts which will need to be repoved soon. But I have no sign of any other age related problems and last year there was some concern. My diet consists of old fashion Oat Meal cooked just enough to take the raw taste out, I add sunflower seeds, chia seeds, raisens and almond milk to taste. This is breakfast, then I make green shake for snack, fresh fruit and green leafy vegies, like kale or chard, enough water in the blender to make a drink. I eat this with a spoon and add a hand full of raw nuts. Lunch is two cups of cold slaw with dried cranberries and sunflower seeds a little low fat dressing for taste. And 4 ozs of greek yougurt. snack is
fruit and a whole grain cookie. I drink water all day long and for dinner two cups of cooked vegies, broccoli or cauliflower, green beans, peas or carrots and a whole grain such as brown rice. I try to make things taste very good, use Mrs Dash etc to limit the salt add a lot of cooked onions and garlic. I do eat 3ozs of meat or fish baked or pan fried with olive oil at least 3 times a week and eat eggs on the off days. The thing I think improved my eyes were the green leafy vegies each day. I am home all day so I don't eat our much, if I do I eat salad with little or no dressing. I can add dips like hummis to eat with my fresh vegies. With just a little study you can find many things that will fit in this diet. It's takes time for you to see the results, but once your digestion gets use to all this you should feel better. It was very easy to modify this for Hubby to eat also, he still can't eat the green shake but he's pretty good about most of the rest.

I think thats good=) you know the one things that pops in my mind when i hear diet is discipline coz if you dont have that attitude i dont think its possible, i am glad that you can make it coz its hard to do that.I hope you could still continue that.

Most of my meals can be prepared ahead and taken to work or play, because there is very little cooking involved. If you are worried about gaining weight due to lack of smoking habit, just form another habit like chewing sugarless gum or doing something with your hands. When I quit smoking I found that the thing I missed most during times of stress was having something in my hands. I carried worry beads for that reason.

Most of that I could do. I even have a juicer, somewhere, and could do the green shake. It would be hard with the rest of the family, though. I am sure all the green leafy stuff is good for you all over.

Sounds like a plan. Hubby would probably do it. Never can tell about the son.

What an amazing diet...Good on you pat, you’re taking such good care of yourself. I think your diet is a very healthy one, what puts me off though is the time required for preparation and how much the ingredients cost as I am on a rather limited budget. As I’m typing this I am having a chicken sandwich and a coffee which is pretty typical of what I consume for lunch on most days; it’s quick, easy and cheap!
I commend you on your way of life pat, you’re doing very well!

wow. that sounds perfect and Iwill try
it because I feel that ym eyes get tired very
often nowadays and I think it would be really
nice if I try this one and hope it will help me too.
the only problem is that I don't know where to find almond
milk, because till date I have never seen almond milk
and don't raelly know how it looks like!

hi wow this sounds like the sort of diet plan that American Diabetes association espouses and it is sure really healthy. makes me hungry
reading some of the things you eat. I love to fix oatmeal the same
way you do.Here they are so uninspired they just cook it to a grey ugly looking glop and serve it with a little milk. gold crest does not seem to be much for making things really tasty. I also cannot use salt at all because of high blood pressure. yes I think the green leafy veggies probably did help your eyes. MOre power to you for such a great and healthy diet, and I do not think most things would take all that much time to fix.

I bet you have all the time in the world to be able to prepare those stuffs but then, being busy is such a poor excuse for not taking charge of one's health. I admire your discipline, Savy. In many ways I wish I could be like that.
Oh, by the way, the chia seeds are packed with essential nutrients that are really helpful for you.
Keep it up!

It's good to have all these freshly prepared. But I don't have much time to do it at home. And besides, some of the ingredients you mentioned are not easily available here in my country. Anyway, there are supplements in capsule form that are rich in vitamin A and eye berry which I take everyday to heal and correct my vision. Thanks for the suggestions, though.
