Wow that is a long time.I am watching some of theses drivers slowing down when coming to a light, others were honking and screaming, it was too much. I decided to go back home and take the golf cart ,lol. Save me on gas, possible mail citations, and it only costs me about $10.00 a month in electricity to run versus $70.00 a week on gas for local running around, lol. I get about 70 miles to a full charge. There are always going to be mitigating circumstances, trees overhanging, bushes in the way, its a bit overpowering. a lot of people getting laid off because the cameras a can do all the work for them that would be routine traffic stops.

Today I heard about 290 sheriffs officer are going to be getting laid off in one county. Coincidence? This is going to be a mess in my opinion. I am hoping no one gets injured over it. People are going to be more cautious then before and maybe slam on breaks to avoid going through a yellow red light. I am finding myself slowing down in anticipation of a the light changing.

I am having to second guess if the green is going turn yellow then red by the time I go under it since there is not time stamped on it. I am having to slow down to see if the light will turn is the issue I am having with this set up. I understand the logic, it is the fact there may be a reason to suddenly stop and get rear-ended or go through and possibly get a ticket. I usually drive around in our golf cart for local stuff, lol. That's a joke, People do not realize the crosswalk rule either and get mad when you go across o nit. It is creating revenue for the state but what happens when you cannot afford to pay in a declining economy? The city was going crazy putting up cameras in my area. I do understand about safety, I am just afraid it may cause more damage from people trying to slam on their brakes as I seen it today. We shall see.

I do understand your situation. Yes, the yellow light always comes first to tell drivers to slow down before it turns red. As long as the car passes the line when the light is yellow the cameras will not be activated - even if the light turns red when the car is still within the junction. This is an "international traffic rule".

I agree with you that "slamming on brakes" can cause acidents too. I have had the misfortune of experiencing it myself. On a few occasions I was almost hit, as a pedestrian, by cars/motor cycles trying to beat red lights.

It is also true that more and more measures are being introduced and traffic rule violations are creating lots of revenue for the state, and many people especially those who cannot to pay are hardest hit. Sometimes, I am also confused. So, it's better safe than sorry.

By where we live a car went airborne, we do not know what the circumstances were as of yet. all we know is that a car hit a tree over the sidewalk and a lot of patrol cars. We were on a our golf cat driving through wondering what happened. Apparently we drove our golf cart through a traffic fatality without knowing it. Still do not know the what actually happened. Just makes you wonder. It is i going to be something I have to get used to .

Despite all the measures and fines to ensure safety on the road accidents are still on the rise. Looks like anything can still happen anytime and anywhere as there are lots of inconsiderate and reckless drivers around (all over the world). The best we can do is to be careful and alert all the time - that is, only to minimise the risks we are exposed to, as there is still no guarantee that nothing will ever happen to us or our loved ones.

Just imagine..... what could happen if traffic rules and measures are lax and ineffective. It is always the unsuspecting and innocent people who will end up being the victims.

Wow, that is good for you guys. It is also a waste of money for traffic court, which I never understood that. I mean you set up rule, fees, and what you want people to pay , then , you can go to court and they will toss it out when the officer does not show up. A waste of taxpayers money. Make it realistic and manageable where you do not the revolving door.

Where are you from? I heard this is in effect in other countries a lot longer than here. I am just not used to the idea. I understand the reasoning , I really do. I am just so afraid that this will lead to more damage than good.

Hi Hatley, I have been hit as a pedestrian at a red light. I find it ironic that people driving still cannot obey the crosswalk when they have a green light, they still turn and not look at the little white flashing picture that allows pedestrians to walk. They still turn because they have a green light. That is all they see. we use the golf cart around town, so we have to still obey crosswalk signs, but I still find a bit challenging because they do not look past the green light. I wonder what else they will do after this. They are finding creative ways to create revenue. We were also told by a city worker that if pass the white line and have not already stopped you can be ticketed, as well. We went through our neighborhood and made it a point to call the city over it since bushes and ornamental flowering hide full access to the roads and you have to pass the white line. They were not happy about that. I do not want to see or hear about people getting hurt over lights. The other thing is that it has not been advertised either. Take care Hatley
