| Can someone enlighten me on why these coins are being sought out?  | | | |  Recently I have been doing some online selling and on one site, I have come across an advertisement for Rizal Head coins dating 1971. Now for the new generation who may be unfamiliar with what I am referring to, these are the coins that circulated from 1968 to 1975 during the time of Marcos and they are big, heavy one Peso coins. It shows Jose Rizal and the Bagong Lipunan seal on the obverse.
Now my curiosity has been ignited because there are a lot of advertisement just for a particular year, which is 1971. I have tried unsuccessfully to find out the value of these coins and why so many people are looking for the coins. I have a can full of these old coins, sitting untouched for more than fifteen years. It is a memento from my childhood years where I would not spend my allowance, which was that one Peso coin, and instead deposit it in my coin bank. Now can someone enlighten me why these coins are being sought out?

| |  here what i know, many told me why many is looking for that coin, the coin is said to be made of alloy mix with gold that's why many want to buy that coin and reprocess the coin to become jewelry by that they earn more money, that is what i know about this coin because my mom get angry when i sold one of this coin, she is planning to keep it in her wallet and she told me the value of that coin
