Will Smith confirms Men in Black 3  

I liked the first one a lot but the second one really disappointed because for so much of the movie it was just Smith and not Smith & Jones. Hopefully they won’t separate them again in the third one.

Hate the second one but they say it is one Will Smith movies too. I hope agent J remains with his memory base from their last sequel, as you all know on part they were partners but in part two tommy lee jones memory was erased.

That is certainly a different way to look at it and in away I agree although if Smith wanted to do a comedy then personally I would have rather have seen him to do something different rather than going back to something from the past. But that boils down to my annoyance at cinema as a whole where they keep on going over old ground with sequels and remakes rather than delivering new and fresh movies.

The second one bored me as well but I put it down to the fact that for the first half of the movie it was just Will Smith and it only started to get really entertaining when they reunited him with Tommy Lee Jones. Personally I think they shouldn’t be making another sequel even if it does turn out to be better than MIB2.

I was shocked when I learned of the Karate Kid remake, think it was last year I heard about it. It’s one of those movies which was such a big part of my childhood that the thought of remaking it just annoys me because it was good enough the first time around. But this remake also features Jackie Chan so it could turn out to be quite good.

i don't even remember what happened in MIB2 though, that's how much i wasn't interested in it.
to be honest, i'm annoyed about the fact that jackie chan will be in it! you can never top how good the first mr. miyagi was, no matter how good jackie chan is! remakes aren't always a good idea, like the remake of charlie and the chocolate factory was definitely nowhere near as good as the original. although last night i saw the remake of a nightmare on elm street and it was really good, really scary and the story was better than the original. granted, the original was made in the 70s, it's not considered to be that scary anymore.
have movies gotten scarier or has our generation got more immune to horror?!

That was my thinking as well especially after the trio of “The Pursuit of Happyness”, “I am Legend” and “Seven Pounds” all great movies with great dramatic performances. I just hope he doesn’t start to churn out comedy after comedy instead of great dramas.

I agree. I enjoyed those three films a lot and he did a great job in all of them. Though I have no doubt that Men in Black 3 will draw the crowds.

"Seven Pounds" was Smith's last movie "Hancock" was the one before that. Unfortunately he has nothing else lined up to appear in before this so it looks like it will be 2 years before he returns to the big screen. But in a way I don't mind because I'd rather they took the time on it and got it right rather than rushing out some substandard disappointing sequel.

Although I like Smith in his comedies I just prefer him when he takes on those dramatic, serious roles. Hopefully they will find some clever idea to stop MIB 3 being too boring and too similar to what has gone before.

It will be interesting because a month or so ago there was rumous that Josh Brolin was going to be in the third which lead people to speculate as to whether he would be playing a younger version of Tommy Lee Jones character and so encorporating flash back sequences into the movie. But as of now there is no confirmed storyline or a complete list of who has signed on to star other than Will Smith.

The trouble with "Hancock" was for me it's two movies in one. You have the intro to Hancock and his troubled ways of doing things, then you have the second part with the storyline around the woman and their super human abilities etc etc. Usually this sort of thing would work but they feel so seperate it makes it all feel wrong.
