Will Smith confirms Men in Black 3 |
| |
| So Will Smith has signed on to do Men in Black 3 which looks likely to hit the big screen in May 2012. Now I like Will Smith and I enjoyed the first Men in Black movie but is this a step backwards for Smith, returning to a movie series which whilst made lots of money when they made Men in Black 2 didn’t really wow audiences? Personally I prefer Smith doing more serious movies, exploring his range as a dramatic actor and as such would rather have seen him take on something more demanding. But it will be good to see him return after his time away from in front of the camera to help produce "The Karate Kid" movie featuring his son Jaden. | | | | | |

| | I liked the first one a lot but the second one really disappointed because for so much of the movie it was just Smith and not Smith & Jones. Hopefully they won’t separate them again in the third one. | | | |

| | Hate the second one but they say it is one Will Smith movies too. I hope agent J remains with his memory base from their last sequel, as you all know on part they were partners but in part two tommy lee jones memory was erased. | | | |

| | I can't say that I see it as a step backwards. I enjoyed both the Men in Black movies, and if they created another without the original actors I would not be interested in seeing it.. especially if they got some other guy to play the same character as Will Smith played. I actually find it quite noble that Will Smith took this part.. most other actors would probably pass it up so as to further their carreer. I really respect actors like Will Smith who does things to please his fans instead of worrying about his wallet. | | | | | | |

| | That is certainly a different way to look at it and in away I agree although if Smith wanted to do a comedy then personally I would have rather have seen him to do something different rather than going back to something from the past. But that boils down to my annoyance at cinema as a whole where they keep on going over old ground with sequels and remakes rather than delivering new and fresh movies. | | | |

| | wow, i didn't even know they were making a men in black three. i didn't even bother to watch all of the second one, i found it quite boring from the start. the first one was good, but after that the idea was old. you have to be careful what you make sequels to - men in black just wasn't a good sequel to make! i liked will smith in hancock, but i haven't seen anything else since then. i don't think they should even make a third one though to be honest. and i can't believe they're remaking the karate kid! | | | | | | |

| | The second one bored me as well but I put it down to the fact that for the first half of the movie it was just Will Smith and it only started to get really entertaining when they reunited him with Tommy Lee Jones. Personally I think they shouldn’t be making another sequel even if it does turn out to be better than MIB2. I was shocked when I learned of the Karate Kid remake, think it was last year I heard about it. It’s one of those movies which was such a big part of my childhood that the thought of remaking it just annoys me because it was good enough the first time around. But this remake also features Jackie Chan so it could turn out to be quite good. | | | |

| | i don't even remember what happened in MIB2 though, that's how much i wasn't interested in it. to be honest, i'm annoyed about the fact that jackie chan will be in it! you can never top how good the first mr. miyagi was, no matter how good jackie chan is! remakes aren't always a good idea, like the remake of charlie and the chocolate factory was definitely nowhere near as good as the original. although last night i saw the remake of a nightmare on elm street and it was really good, really scary and the story was better than the original. granted, the original was made in the 70s, it's not considered to be that scary anymore. have movies gotten scarier or has our generation got more immune to horror?! | | | |

| | That is a bit of a strange move on his part. I thought he was moving away from those type of roles, but then they are the type of roles that made his name I suppose. I liked Men in Black but I highly doubt if I will go to the cinema to see this one. | | | | | | |

| | That was my thinking as well especially after the trio of “The Pursuit of Happyness”, “I am Legend” and “Seven Pounds” all great movies with great dramatic performances. I just hope he doesn’t start to churn out comedy after comedy instead of great dramas. | | | |

| | I agree. I enjoyed those three films a lot and he did a great job in all of them. Though I have no doubt that Men in Black 3 will draw the crowds. | | | |

| | Sometimes movie sequels are not what they promise to be. Will Smith is dynamic! I can't wait for men in black 3. If Will Smith has signed on, it will be great. | | | | | | |

| | "Seven Pounds" was Smith's last movie "Hancock" was the one before that. Unfortunately he has nothing else lined up to appear in before this so it looks like it will be 2 years before he returns to the big screen. But in a way I don't mind because I'd rather they took the time on it and got it right rather than rushing out some substandard disappointing sequel. | | | |

| | Yes , I prefer Will Smith doing those serious projects too like Seven pounds and I Am Legend. I've never liked the MIB movies , kinda boring ... Aliens and talking dogs :0 Snore... I mean these movie are so lackluster. They don't give me any sort of thrill or satisfaction. BRING ON THE HEART TOUCHING PERFORMANCES! | | | | | | |

| | Although I like Smith in his comedies I just prefer him when he takes on those dramatic, serious roles. Hopefully they will find some clever idea to stop MIB 3 being too boring and too similar to what has gone before. | | | |

| | I had no idea that the movie company was in talks with Will Smith to make a Men in Black 3. It would be really interesting to see where the story goes and whether they will make it in 3D. I am a fan of Will Smith too and really like his whole acting range from Humor to serious drama movies. | | | | | | |

| | It will be interesting because a month or so ago there was rumous that Josh Brolin was going to be in the third which lead people to speculate as to whether he would be playing a younger version of Tommy Lee Jones character and so encorporating flash back sequences into the movie. But as of now there is no confirmed storyline or a complete list of who has signed on to star other than Will Smith. | | | |

| | The trouble with "Hancock" was for me it's two movies in one. You have the intro to Hancock and his troubled ways of doing things, then you have the second part with the storyline around the woman and their super human abilities etc etc. Usually this sort of thing would work but they feel so seperate it makes it all feel wrong. | | | |
