Hi friends,
First of all I would like to say that, I am knowingly creating this discussion in Cricket though it is about Chess! Because, no one even bothers to check out the Chess Interest!
Well,
Vishwanathan Anand won the 12 game championship against Veselin Topalov and defended his title to remain World Champion in Chess!
I don't know how many of you follow Chess but it was quite a treat to follow every move!
It is sad that Indian Cricket Team crashed out of T20 World cup but Anand gave something to cherish about for all Indian sport lovers.
As a young player Anand stunned everyone with his speed. He was called 'Lightning Kid' and then 'Speed Chess Demon' and now with age he has slowed down a bit.
Anand is unique champion in the sense he won World Championship in every format. Classic (Up to 6-7 hours per game), Rapid (25 minutes and some seconds increment per move), Blitz (5 minutes for whole game!), and also in Knock-Out tourney, Round Robin, and 12 games Matches. No other player has done that in Chess history!
So it is commendable that Anand is performing so well at the age of 40 against much younger opponents with Computer softwares and engine facility that allows them to overtake experience of old players!
Let us congratulate Vishy Anand on his achievement and wish him more success and joy to fans of Chess and Sports.
Happy Mylotting!

Yes you are right. He has created history by winning in all the formats. We are really very proud of him. More over he is very simple and humble like Sachin Tendulkar. A rare quality which everyone should try to imbibe.

You can actually post it under sports rather than under cricket. Without doubt this is one of the best performances by an Indian sportsman. I think Sachin and Anand are beacons of Indian Sportsmen with both their on field and off field behavior. I congratulate Vishwanathan Anand on his great success and hope that he will continue to have more success in future.
Cheers!
