My Two Minute Story. | | | | In a nutshell, I want to retire from working for someone else, and be a "stay at home dad" Kinda crazy I know, Stay at home mom is all the rage this year... So, about oh a year ago now I guess, I started looking into making money online, that is how I found mylot, affiliate marketing and MLM. I did a few things here and there, got scammed as I am sure a lot of other people did, and in the process I learned a lot. Tonnes, too much to mention in two minutes mind. Three of the biggest things I found out though, was any information someone expects you to pay them for, you can probably find for free, as a matter of fact, I paid for information, and then was directed to a open website.....I was not impressed. Second was Mentoring For Free...I mention this site/organization a lot because I love what they do and what they charge. If you are coachable, and can follow a system, this is a great place to create "leads" and get them trained to do the same thing. Third was, my primary online income generator...Vitamark International. It is an online health and wellness store. I like to think of it as a comprehensive vitamin shop with a referral bonus. The products are great, I love the cookies(super good for you snack), the Limu Plus, the Vitaone, the Vite Enhanced Water, Crave Energy Drink, those are just some of the main stream ones, I love em all. Best soy protein I have ever tasted. Thanks for reading. It seems it was a little longer then two minutes....Do you have a two minutes story? What do you think I could do to improve mine? With Appreciation. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |

| | Two minutes, eh? I, like you, have tried several things to be abel to stay home and raise children. I've sold scrapbooks and help cropping parties, wound up with a bunch of stock, I've sold stuff on Ebay for others and kept a profit, I was a Wedding Coordinator, a PTC Tester/Clicker, signed up for some vacation package deal with referral bonus blah blah blah and never got a lead. What I do now is work DCS - Direct Customer Sales. I make commission by signing people up to a health and wellness company and never sell a thing! As long as the people I sign up continue to absolutely LOVE the products and purchse them, I make a check Every month, for years on end now. The products are GREEN - bio-friendly, highly absorbable vitamins by a company that has been around for over 20 years. Lots of support. I work as much or as little and I am making a check this month off of work I did over 4 or 5 years ago! I use the products and my son's asthma went away once we got the harmful chemicals out of the way. Lots of people think I'm a salesman, but I don't sell a THING! This company sells itself and I love it. After years of searching and stocking my shelves, I now shop for myself, help others find a greener, safer, cheaper way to live and make a commission if they want to by telling their friends. I'm into being healthy from here on out! Thanks for listening everyone! CJ: I'm not sure Friend I have any advice to help you improve your story because it is YOUR story! And, you're pretty amazing the way you are! :*) You are helping people and the world needs more helpers! Bear | | | | | | | zigzagbuddha (1845)

| | Well, as you can see, I have failed miserably in my attempt to tell a 2 minute story. It seems that I have just broken it down into 2 parts. And this is part 2: I do a lot of purchasing online... I live in the mountains where the only store for 50 miles only carries white bread and sugar and preservative laden food or wilted fruits and veggies. And I am not driving right now. (It gets me too pi$$ed off.) And they certainly don't carry little pink barefeet bathtub decals, 100% cotton cherry blossom shower curtains made in Turkey, or stair tread from Vermont! The way I get around on the internet is that I do not do business with companies that present themselves with a bunch of hype... wild promises made with exclamation points instead of periods, and the incessant urging to 'buy now'... it makes me want to back off and rethink my priorities. One time I was researching kefir, and also looking for someplace to buy kefir grains. In my research I came across a guy who was selling a video on how to make kefir. He made some wild and emphatic statements and used a lot of exclamation points so I avoided his website. Especially since I was finding all the information I needed free on the internet. Anyway, in my research, I kept clicking on links that caught my interest that took me to his website. This happened again and again, till I finally thought, "Ok, let's see what he's about" and spent a few minutes going deeper into his website. He came right out and said that the information that is in his video could be easily obtained for free on the internet. And by that time I was a little confused with all the bits and pieces I was collecting and the idea of having it all consolidated into one place had some appeal, and I appreciated his honesty. So when I saw the offer that said he would sell you some kefir grains AND his video for the price of the kefir grains, I decided to go for it. What did I have to lose except 20 bucks? 20 bucks is pocket change! But true to his word, the kefir grains arrived soon with a German postmark... it was so exciting, hehehehe. The video wasn't bad either... he is an American guy living in Germany with his German wife, all young and buff, and into the body as a living temple. He is in his German kitchen with the window overlooking a German landscape, and it was a lot of fun for me to get the feeling of traveling through foreign and exotic lands. Anyway, you didn't need to know any of that, but I needed to type it. Otherwise I would have to be doing something productive, like mowing the lawn... oops! it's raining... see! It worked! Thank you thank you!! | | | | Bearballew (464)

| | I am slightly disappointed in you my dear Avalon...make my day, and please find that shot. Miss Zigzagbuddha, is by far the most memorable person I have ever met via the Internet. She always has something interesting and out of this world to share. I love her stories, even when they are completely unrelated to what the previous post was, they always add value, and teach something too. She is like my favorite aunt, I might even start calling her, Auntie Avalon. Let me know how the Kefir goes dearest one. And one day during your search, would you be so kind as to check out http://limuplus.com. Don't have to, I would like to know what you think, tastes like a strong grape juice to me. Sincerely and With Appreciation. | | | | zigzagbuddha (1845)

| | Hahahaha... boy, I feel like answering in the third person! I found that shot, but I have changed my mind about it being my favorite, so I am not going to post it. And as far as that limuplus goes, I am not into those kinds of concoctions. I didn't like the website either, even without the 'testimonials', which always turn me off to a product. No offense intended, I know you have a vested interest in their products, but I am not going to feign interest just to be polite. | | | | zigzagbuddha (1845)

| | PS: It makes absolute sense that you would try to sell me on it though... since I had just announced that I am interested in health and do a lot of online ordering, hehehe. Sorry to have disappointed you yet again! | | | | CJscott (2566)

| | The only disappointment is me not getting to see your pretty face. I do not sell, I inform and take the volunteers. You seemed like a good person to inform, simple, sincere mistake. It never offends me that people have different interests then I do, that would be very ignorant of me. You should have answered in the third person, it most likely would have made you giggle. | | Just thinking about it made me laugh. It fits right in with a certain other scenario playing out in my life right now. I had to call the phone company again today and have them reconnect my dial up service that I had them disconnect - for the 3 or 4th time in a very narrow window of time. I was a little nervous about calling them, like they were going to tell me "NO, you are not allowed to change your mind this many times" or something like that. My friend said I should tell them that every time I turn around my 'other personality' has canceled our dial up service, hehehehe. | | | | CJscott (2566)

| | My story is that I am still on the journey to be able to be completely comfortable with staying at home with my children. However, I have learned quite a bit in the time since I've discovered mylot. I think that the time that I've spent here has been one of the most valuable things that I've learned about being a stay at home mother. Mylot brings me sanity when I don't have any at home. I've learned how to push my Tupperware business farther and I know that I will continue to learn. | | | | | | | CJscott (2566)

| | That makes for a lot more than a two minute story. I got started with Tupperware nearly a year ago. A friend of mine invited me to a party where I went into the party knowing exactly what I was going to buy. Then my brother and sister-in-law arranged a fundraiser for his Team In Training and the morning of the fundraiser I woke up and realized that I needed to be a Tupperware consultant. It is a product that I've used my entire life (my mother and my grandmother both had huge collections of Tupperware) and I'd just moved into my own house and had none of my own, so I needed a way to get my own collection. In addition to that, I saw how much my friends had ordered at Tara's party a month before and thought it would be the perfect foot in the door. I'm in it because I love the product and I also like the fact that I can get my own products for a discount. As far as mylot, I learned of this great site through a job search for my mother just after she'd been laid off from her job. I was searching the job boards and found a link that brought me here. I was very apprehensive at first as I really didn't know that you could make money online. I gave it a try and within a few days I realized that mylot fulfilled a need for me being a stay at home mother. It gave me a way to have meaningful conversation during the day when my husband and oldest were at work. I keep coming back because I can learn, share and have adult conversation. | | | | CJscott (2566)

| | More then two minutes to type, less then two minutes to say. And the perfect lead into to why you participate in both activities, when someone asks you for more information that is. So you could say something like, Oh, I just got an extra 20$ into my PayPal account, to a friend or a neighbor. Most will respond Why did they do that. And you can tell them your story. Some of course will say, "And how is the weather where you live". Same if someone expresses interest in Tupperware. Do you have any sentences for enticing people to ask you about Tupperware that you can use. I can only think of a few varied first sentences off the top of my head, my favorite one recently was in the Big Al Report this week. - "Why your employer may be a dream-sucking vampire." and another good one was "Become a super parent by starting your own home business."
